Take Danny Olmo for example plays for Leipzig, a decent club but not filled with stars by any means. Yet Olmo when he gets better plays around in the national team? Looks like one of the best player in Europe. Contrast that with Phil Foden. Looks like a world beater at Man City and TBF he had a great season. Exactly right! People who say Kyle Walker is good don't know ball. I've said it for years and people scoff at me. I am reminded of something Maldini used to say- he used to say if I have to make a slide tackle and leave my feet, it might look good for the high light reel and the camera but it's because I messed up my job as a defender and i had to last gasp save it. Kyle Walker to me has ALWAYS seemed to rely on his speed instead of being a good defender and positioning well. If his highlight reel is just running hard to recover it means he's constantly out of position and his speed is what hides his mistakes. It's awful!

Problem is so has Trippier and James and Trent can't defend at all. We've got so many right backs and none of them are good enough 🤷‍♂️

I think your last sentence put it best why English fans are sometimes the most annoying fans. The amount of confidence for a team that hasn't won anything in 60 years is unbelievable. Other fans want their team to win, they may even hope to win. They may even be quite confident that their team will win. But English fans are ALWAYS certain that they are going to win. And they never do. What a misplaced sense of confidence.
