It’s a ghost town down on lovers lane, Cupid's too tired to fight. Clowns, emotionally redundant - no tears will get you any work. They burnt down the lonely hearts club, the disco’s empty Monday nights.
Man, you should’ve seen her she was dressed to the ninety-nines. Outside St. David’s pavement are thrown-away wedding rings. The alimony pays the bills but the loneliness kills. The pills that the doctor gave you were never meant to numb the pain,
it just keeps it all in you and brings it all back again.

The bars that we used to frequent are empty shut away. Love Street, our favourite places, minus the same old faces. I see a lamplight through your window, curtains drawn, music on. There’s a figure holding onto you just like I used to do. There’ll be crying on the boulevard tonight, occasional breakdowns. Silly girl said her love’s gone bad but she swears that she won’t go mad.
The telephone won’t ring tonight - she’s got another date. This line of mines engaged, I call for help but my saviours late.
