my personal headcannon is that maybe spider is demisexual, which is when you experience sexual attraction but only once a personal connection is established. it makes sense, since he only ever really is able to, yk, once he and missy have a more personal relationship. just a thought!

I loved episode 5 so much because IMMEDIATELY spider’s character was explained. I knew he’d get some type of redemption this season but they went above and beyond fleshing out his character

So the thing abt autism is autistic people (like myself and like quinni) are TERRIBLE when it comes to change. It makes sense that all these major changes caused a meltdown bc it’s overwhelming. And she just got hit with a bunch of change at once. Any change is difficult for us.

Ok I’m seriously wondering if I’m slightly autistic, I have so many of the traits and especially am terrible with change and have been made fun of that forever Like my heart hurts so bad and I cry over everything, i cried when I painted my room even tho I liked the new color better 😂

even for nt people it would be overwhelming 😭 poor quinni, she just wanted to hold on to the one thing that was constant before all this (bird psycho) and everyone is telling her to stop that too (which i also understand, unhealthy obsession isn't good either). Just stressful on all sides

A lot of us unfortunately have a bit of a complex around being 'useful' as well- making sure we have a 'purpose' in a group so we're harder to exclude (as you'd expect it's a serious recipe for unhealthy and unequal relationships because you end up being the emotional support animal for people). I definitely felt that monologue.

as a teen with autism the whole zoo scenes were so much more meaningful. Constantly masking and trying to make sense of social cues that everyone else seems to just get. darren telling quinni to stop is them telling her to stop masking, which is undermining all the work she does on her part. quinni and other autistic people are forced to do 4 times as much as everyone else just to abide by “the rules”. to see darren go from season one saying quinni is their “too much” to now in season 2 saying everything can’t be on her terms is such a big change.

exactlyyyyy also the way they were treating her fixation with bird psycho was so patronizing!! like fun fact telling an autistic person to Just Stop thinking about something we’re fixated on is NEVER helpful, it doesn’t matter what your intentions are. they’re so focused on what THEY think is best for quinni that they completely ignore her trying to tell them what she actually needs. not to mention, she didn’t even do anything dangerous!! she just got bit because they were in the middle of the fucking bush!! it could’ve been any of them! the only other dangerous thing was when she went with amerie to chooks, which was AMERIE’S IDEA & darren was literally there too
