Look it up, it's really sad tbh. Alfalfa (Bug hall) recently came out with a youtube video explaining the years of abuse he suffered being a child star in Hollywood. I wouldn't doubt for a second that these kids went through the same thing.
Froggy used his real voice in the one where the gang, unbeknownst to him is planning a surprise party, and he dresses as a girl to get in. He also briefly used his actually voice in Radio Bugs, a 1943 Our Gang comedy when his "Froggy" voice kept causing the radio to short out.
My dad was born in 69 and grew up watching these. He used to tell some of the stories to my sister and I before bed. Alfalfa will forever be my favourite
The best Froggy ep is "Surprised Parties" where Froggy booby-traps the Gang's party not realizing it's a suprise party for *him* and then attends the party in drag to watch the mayhem, then has to set all the traps on himself once he realizes his error. "Puddin' Tane - ask me again and I'll tell you the same!"
I learned to do that voice when I was 7 or 8 too. The trick is, you breathe *in* instead of out, when talking. It's a bit tiring which is why they only gave him short lines, I'm guessing. But imagine a voice like that coming out of a little kid!
Idk why it was so funny to hear him just flat out say "we kids ain't got sheeeyaht". Also pretty ironic given that child actors were severely mistreated back in those days
The network known as METY should bring back that series. I've seen a few episodes growing up. I aspesially liked the animation affects they did for the dog's eyes.
I'm 31 and a Millennial and I grew up watching Our gang/Little rascals. Has nothing to do with generation gaps. You look like a Millenial yourself🤣 if u were born between 82-96...U r a MILLENIAL. U must be referring to gen Z like the Boomers confuse us with. U have boomer tendencies
@grunge near lapuente how bout right in the city of lapuente between 7th and 8th st on valley blvd come on man la puenty or la puente lol pronunciation from white people is funny I’m half white half Mexican don’t worry I know the difference
They made a remake of the Little Rascals, but the original ones were better. The kids in the old ones were like mini adults. RIP Froggy! Blessings and prayers to your family.
When l was a kid I was running around and had a pencil in my hand. My dad told me, "Don't run around with a pencil in your hand! The boy that played Froggy did that, tripped, fell, and jabbed himself with the pencil. That's why he sounds the way he does." That story freaked me out for years. Today I found out that it wasn't true.
I think that it wasn't set in the title because these Little Rascals could be considered as the originals. Most of the time only the remakes get the dates set to showcase the difference.
I had no clue that The Little Rascals started as as anything before the movie that came out (relativity) recently. Lol I was so confused. I’m only 26, so you can’t really blame me too much.
For me it was the opposite. I'm 25 and I saw the series first, but I have old parents so that's probably why. I have some VHS tapes of the show somewhere. I somehow didn't know about the movie until I was like 10 when my brother saw at it a blockbuster and begged my mom to rent it for us.
@@jenniferpimentel9116 The movie came out in 1994 and you were -if I calculated right- were born in 1995. Did you watch b&w Our Gang flicks from your mama's ovaries with tiny X-ray binoculars or what?
The fact that the majority of comments are reminiscing over the 90s version and movie and not the og makes me super sad. My grandma had me hooked on Little Rascals as a kid. Still have all the original VHS compendium tapes that they made in like the late 80s early 90s.
In one "Our Gang"episode, "One, Two, Three Go!" Froggy had to change his voice and used his actual one because the microphones he spoke into exploded when he used his "real" voice.
Was way ahead of its time. The fact we know about this show nearly a century after it went dark goes to ahow how timeless it is. It is a shame that the actors in faced such terrible real life issues. Unfortunately, such were the times they were living.
