President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris traveled to South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia to assess the damage caused by Hurricane Helene, which killed more than 160 people.
When Biden landed in Greer, South Carolina, he was met by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, and North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper.
Harris was in Augusta, Georgia, surveying the impacts of Helene and received an on-the-ground briefing about recovery efforts in the state. She provided this update from the ground.
While visiting FEMA Headquarters, VP Harris told victims of Hurricane Helene, "Our nation is with you, and our Administration will continue to do everything we can to help you recover and rebuild - no matter how long it takes."
