This episode was one of the most beautiful works of art I have ever witnessed. It fully encapsulates how powerful a work of fiction can be.

A celebration of a mother's everyday unconditional love. Really drives home how Violet has gained emotional awareness and intelligence over the season, as you could see how careful she was with her words when talking to Ann. I had to watch this episode in parts.

I'm not even exaggerating when I say re-watching this episode had me SOBBING lmao like I could barely read the subtitles. I love this show so much with the emotion it brings out while watching. it truly explores so many different variations of losing someone. something about the way her mom says "Ann" over and over with the letters at the end just breaks my heart lol

This episode made me cry more than I ever have out of anything I've seen from anime. Episode 10 is for sure a masterpiece

it really doesn't matter how many times I've seen this show and this episode and it doesn't matter how many reactors reacted to it I always end up crying in this episode. I hope that no one ever gets to experience this in real life.

No matter how many times i watch this episode, this always makes me cry, this is why i have Violet Evergarden as my favorite anime of all time

I watched this episode three times now (once by myself, once with my sister, and now with you guys) and it has never failed to make me cry. I love the emotions that this show can pull out of me. I think the only things that have made me cry more than this episode were the Violet Evergarden movie, Assassination Classroom, and a certain episode of Hunter x Hunter

Dawg, talk about a straight-up tearjerker. I definitely cried during this one. Miss Anna was such lovely little lady. This had to be one of the sweetest and saddest episodes of the series. It was beautiful bittersweet.

As soon as I seen the Mom and the child, I knew exactly how this was going to end. I had the whole episode to prep myself and yet, as the credits rolled and every milestone was read, it broke me more and more. There's not a lot of media that can break me, but this did. What a beautiful episode.

Sad thing is that next year when this anime was released , the studio which made this anime was set on fire by the criminal and 36 animator were killed.

after watching this ep i immediately search for ann's VA after all what touched me is not the music, not the story but the VA's performance even without the element of surprise since you could easily predict where the stories goes but you can't do nothing but cried with that kind of performance

I cry every time I watch this episode. It's truly a work of art. And it really shows Violet's character growth, especially when you look back on how she was at the beginning of the show. The emotional development that she goes through is incredible.

Doesn't matter how hard or badass you are, this episode WILL break you. I don't think I've seen a single reactor not weep at this episode

Seriously my favorite episode of Anime ever. How can you even come up with such a beautiful, heartfelt, sad, but in the end hopeful story...? And it's executed so so well, everything's simply perfect 🥲

This episode is enough to make a grown man cry. I admit it myself that even today i can't rewatch this anime alone again.

This was the first episode Violet ever showed strong feelings... it hits like a truck every time. That's when she took a large step forward away from being a tool to being a human. And to understand what those words meant so many years ago.

This is some ugly crying, snot coming out, kind of episode, every time you watch it, like, I watched some of it at times 2 speed bc a) I didn't want to deal with the concequences of watching this one and b) I'm technically behind so imma reach here later, then I'll watch it at normal speed. AND THAT SHIT STILL MADE ME CRY, with full effect, in fact every time I have to talk about this show to someone I think of like 5 specific episodes, this one, episode 7, the one with the brother of violet's friend, and 2 other ones yet to come and I start to feel the waterworks coming and I don't want to be the guy that starts crying as he's recommending a series to you so I try to distract myself with my pitch for the show and then after my point about the show has been delivered I try to move the conversation along, also talking with my cousin about this and how did he like it we were talking about our favorite episodes and he was like "oh just remembering them makes me feel misty eyed" and I was like "yeah and it doesn't matter how much you watch it still hits you, now let's change the subject I don't want to cry at a restaurant"

This episode always breaks me. I'm a bit conflicted about the mother's actions though. I understand her fear of leaving Ann alone as well as her wish to be part of Ann's life, but Ann will be forced to experience the death of her mother twice because of this.

I've watched Violet Evergarden 3 times now but I skip this episode every time. I can't. Oh, and Dani is so fucken hot!! Holy shit!!
