Generally speaking you need a deck that is fun to play for you in my experience(2 times legend one time rank 500). Then you need a lot of patience and you shouldnt continue to play after 2 or 3 losses. The best deck atm is c'Thun warrior but i would say that you can make it with every class to legend. In your case i think that you just need more time if this is your real first tryhard season so just chill:). To get Legend is actually really hard and needs alot of practice and a good mindset but if you have this you can definetly do this.Also you should track your statistics and winrates to see if your deck is viable at a long run. So just stay cool and try to find a deck that suits you which is the most difficult part in my opinion .if you have any more questions feel free to ask(and sorry for my english^^).

+GGGGGGGGGG Sorry to be mean but I must contradict you. I disagree with the fact that getting legend is hard, because it isn't. Saying that it's hard to get legend in HS is like saying that HS is a Pay to Win game, regardless of the fact that all content in the game is available to all players with no micro transaction requirment (except for the alternate hero portraits, which have no impact on the gameplay). Getting legend is incredibly easy in terms of difficulty: you take a deck you like and you start playing games on the ladder. Even an average or even below average player can easily achieve legend by taking a Tier 1 deck and playing a lot of games on ladder. Here's where people get kinda confused by this explanation. They take a random deck, they play like 2 hours with it and they expect to be legend or at least be at a very high rank. Or they just play 2 hours a day to do quests and stuff and they expect to get good ladder results. That's not how it works. An average player with a Tier 1 deck can probably achieve a win rate of about 65% (very rough estimate, but it's the closest I could come up with). This can and probably will improve if the player is familiar with the deck. Given this win rate, you basicly have to play all day for about 3 days to achieve legend. Yes, it's very likely that an average player with a great deck can achieve legend in only about 3 days IF they spend all day laddering. Well, that's pretty ridiculous and that's why you got 30 days to ladder each season, but from my experience I can tell you that getting there is NOTHING MORE than a matter of time and dedication. I am someone whose friend list is made up of nothing but people that sent or accepted friend requests after games via the add the last opponent function. Most of them see me like some kind of ladder God. They always ask me for advice and about what decks are good in the meta etc. because they always see me get very good ladder results very early on in the season and I am usually one of, if not the first to get legend out of all my friends. The "having a high rank early on" is a very interesting experience because you mostly encounter good players with good decks, regardless of their rank in comparison to yours and you also get a lot of rematches. This season I had a particularly unpleasant experience where I faced the same tempo mage about 3-4 times in the same day. They didn't all happen one after another, he just happened to face me again and again. This was happening I the first 5 days of ladder, I was rank 3 and he was rank 1 and later, legend. The idea is, I lost ALL the games because he was running a more midrange-ish version of tempo mage with Ragnaros and he also happened to have good Yogg RNG, against my very weak to Ragnaros and removal deck. What was the "meta breaker deck" that got me to ranks 1-5 in the early stages of ladder (there probably weren't even 100 legend players at that time)? C'Thun Druid. Not a warrior deck, not a shaman deck, not a tempo mage deck, not a zoolock or renolock deck, but a random Tier 2 Druid deck that has been losing popularity to token Yogg Druid was the deck that carried me from rank 15 to rank 2 in the first 5 days of ladder. How did that random deck give me good results on ladder? There are 2 easy reasons: 1. Warrior is very common and as a result the shamans and zoolocks, the main problems of C'Thun Druid, were very rare, while Warriors (of any kind) themselves don't have the greatest time against C'Druid. 2. I played the deck A LOT. Early on I get rather excited and I'm in a very good mood for ladder, so I just play a lot for a few days and before I know it I'm already near legend. This season in particular I really wanted Golden Druid and since I needed like 50 wins I just played a bunch one day and got to rank 2. So stop saying that getting legend is "hard". That's what casuals think and casuals should have no business trying to get good ladder results and casuals especially have no business going around giving tryhards (even if only for 1 season) advice on how to get legend.

It's very easy to get legend from there. Here's what you have to do: Pick a deck that's good against the most popular decks on ladder. If the meta hasn't changed since the last time I played, that should be Fr0zen's N'Zoth Renolock which Trump just did a deck teaching on. You can go check that out if you're interested in that deck. Also, C'Thun Druid is pretty good against most Warr decks while losing badly to Shaman and having a below average win rate against Zoo, which are less common due to the Warrior party that's going on atm. Now that you got your deck (if the list you got had no weapon removal, find a way to put either Harrison or Ooze in it), follow this one easy step: Play that deck A LOT. Don't worry about losing a few games in a row, especially if it was because of above average draws from your opponent or below average draws from you, as long as you keep facing the correct matchup for your deck, you are good (in the case of Renolock, that would be Warrior). If you are feeling stressed from repeated losses DO NOT KEEP PLAYING. Relax for a while of you are tilted. There's nothing worse than being stressed because you lost a rank or two and doing mistakes because of that. Getting affected by a loss will only result in more losses. Instead, what you should try to do is identify the reason you lost, which will lead to self improvement over time. It will either lead to that or the conclusion that your deck is not correct for the current meta, in which case you should just Google another deck. Btw, you need to play AT LEAST 10 games before deciding to do any changes. That's the least amount of games that will give you a big enough sample size for whether a change is needed or not. I hope this is useful advice.

+Steven Path Yeah, yeah it was immense help. I've always been told reaching legend is a grind but it just feels completely different at this rank. It really did feel like a different meta as soon as I crossed the rank line. But as for choosing a deck, I might have to go with C'THUN druid since I have every druid card as opposed to almost no Warlock cards lol. Is there a certain variation of CDruid that is strongest right now? I might just kill the rest of the day trying to grind ladder lol

AF ARaider I just took the list from Tempo Storm and tweaked it a bit to fit my play style. I personally prefer to play 1 Living Roots 2 Nourish no AoW or Rag, 2 Klaxxi 1 C'Thun's Chosen 1 Twilight Elder. Idk if someone came up with a better version with Thaurissan or Ragnaros or whatnot, but that's the list I used.

Aggressive decks don't really tend to make for the most interesting videos :P

Does anyone know why stuff like Slam, Shield Slam, and Shadow Strike can target any minion, but Assassinate and Execute can only target enemy ones?

A few minths ago, i would have said shield slam was fine and execute needed the nerf. But since deaths bitte is gone, shield slam is the one that seems need the nerf.

@drunyon214, because t hats the way they wanted to design the card i guess. @albert m, shield slam doesnt rlly need to get nerfed because it only works with armor, so if a warrior is behind and can only armor up to gain the armor, the card is basically just 1 mana deal 2 damage. @skullhawk13, it wouldnt kill t he card, but it would make things like sylv shield slam like the warrior did not possible which would be slightly inconvenient

Shadow worth death is slightly cheaper for having a condition, fireball is because mages are designed around slightly better spells to compensate for the fact they are the spell synergy class, frost bolt isn't overpowered, and getting armor is laughably easy, plus it;s not like shield slam removes armor, if you use it to kill a 30/30, which is not that unlikely as you can easily get twenty armor in one turn with current cards, you still have that armor. Shield slam is simply undercost, without any form of justication, as having armor is hardly a condition at all

It's a control matchup, so you're mostly trying to make the most out of your cards. If he played the twin emps on turn 7, the 3/1 ravaging ghoul and his fiery war axe would get a favorable trade, leaving him with only 1 4/6 taunt. He wanted to get rid of the 3/1 at least before playing twin emps, but he had no efficient way to do so. Also having an extra 4/6 taunt essentially forces the warrior to use brawl, otherwise he would be spending multiple removals just to take out a single card.
