Hi guys! Since this took so long to actually come up on the channel, I felt I owed you guys an explanation as to why that was. Firstly, I totally underestimated the time Anub'arak would take me, I usually start each episode with quick glance on Wowpedia to get an idea of how long an episode will be. I thought, 'oh Anub won't take long' but as I got writing, remembering all I loved about this character and his race, it soon turned into a larger episode than expected :P. Secondly I had my video software completely bugger up on me. I'd been frustrated with it for a long time and decided the time was right to move software. So I needed to learn this, which was quicker than expected tbh :). However, Adobe Elements saves massive files :S. This episode literally took about 8 hours to upload o.o. So in the future I'll create the episode and then compress it using my old software (which I reinstalled after realising this), as Adobe as an editor is easier to use. If any one has experience creating long form videos and uploading them to youtube with Adobe Elements, some advise would be really appreciated! :D Finally, while writing I came up with the idea of those dungeon runs too, which added a little time but I hope you enjoy them as some nice additional content :D. Again sorry about the big gap in between my content and having to suffer with Chard's content in between that gap ;P (Love you really Chard) The support you guys show this channel is beyond appreciated, thank you! -James
every time i watch one of your videos i'm caught off guard by how far back the lore goes. it really is daunting as a novice worldbuilder to see how much history and interweaving lore that was put into my favorite fantasy world. also i severely underestimated anub'arak, i didn't think he'd be nearly this cool. thanks for yet another great video
+xarris37 He is freakin' awesome :D Yeah it's quite increadible how much lore there is to WoW, don't forget it's had years and several games to do that. I think where WoW beats others is that even the smallest parts of the lore have at least some development and it makes the world feel richer as a whole.
I usually don't watch clips longer than 10 minutes just because I don't have the patience for it but boy was this good. You did a great job in keeping me hooked and I even got goosebumps every now and then :P Well done.
well that was 40 minutes of my life well spent, and im glad you put it as one video instead of two now! and i will continue to persist you for lore on the dragon aspects!
Been waiting so long for this one, I never had the chance to play WoW and Anub'arak was one of my favourite characters from WC3 so I was pretty excited when I saw this video on my feed! TY
+WaveringTwo You didn't miss out on much in WoW, I feel he was a little misused tbh and didn't get a very good send off :(. That may be be my bias as I love him as a character
After this video, I really want to make anub'arak rogue... But it seems like it's impossible... Such a shame :) really good video, keep up the good work :)
Great work one again. I absolutely love your videos, you deserve much more viewers. I know its more work, but in the future could you let us listen to the actual dialogue for some of the more important emotional quotes?
+Filthy Plebeian Memes Sure, I don't see why not. I used to attempt doing voices for them but induced too many cringes :P. If the line is spoken in game I'll aim to use it! Some are in short stories etc in this particular episode.
+llol lul I dunno, there's something about it though isn't there? I think I have to credit the art team for some of the best character designs I've ever seen :)
Any chance you could link the music that is being played in the background as well? I really liked the BC Sunwell plateau music, but I can't seem to find the extended version you put in your video. Much appreciated! :)
+Rahul Krishnakumar All the tracks are from the Froxen throne soundtrack, bought it off itunes specifically for this episode :D Track I used on this one were: 1.Wrath of the Lich King, 3. Arthas My Son, 4. Path of Tears, 7. God Hunters, 14. The Culling, 16. Rise of the Vrykul and 17. Shadow Web Caverns
I'd love to see Carine and maybe Blaine blood-hoof in the next one. Loved Carine since literally his his appearance. *Comes trampling through a few trees* "Greetings young warchief. You green skins fight with both honor and valor, I am intrigued."
I don't think that's the point... I've been using him and he's meant to trade with big shit like Boom, Rag, Alex, etc... while going back to your hand. If you've baited out enough of his removal, and play Anub, then you'll win the value battle. The problem is that Rogue isn't really suited for grindy style of decks. I'm experimenting with one, and it's fairly successful. So if you trigger his Rattle, he'll go back into your hand.
Wow.. I thought the skin on HOTS was just for show.. Cause he serves the lich king lives in Northrend so he got frosty scale and armor... But I have never been in the Argent tournament, so I didn't know about him being slain twice... Fun to know that anub'arak skins.. Are actually from the steps of Lore he have been through... Cool
+Znuffle ... hmmm just read this comment back... no idea what was auto corrected to "Child" :S. LEsson here, always type out responses on my computer not my phone :P
When is the new video coming out :D Im not really interested in Rhonin cause youve mentioned bits of him a lot in earlier videos,so Im not really interested in him.But Ill still watch it I might like it.They always get interested after a few mins in anyway.
+SmashDog Honestly wouldn't want to put a time on it, my estimates have been crap recently :P. I plan to get a mini LotC out within the next week though :)
+Desislav Velchev i heard they are adding new animation where i fly in like brann and then destroy what ever on my way, seems like a good nerf, will cause all the mobile players to rage quite
Awesome WarCraft III hero. Terrible Hearthstone card. Also, I miss his old voice. It was a lot creepier and more sinister. The new one seems unstable, like he's about to freak out. I always imagined him more conniving than straight up insane.
+Abelhawk Yeah his WCIII voice is my favourite. Anub's representation is 50/50 Awesome in WC III and in heroes of the Storm (favourite character to play) and unusable in HS and not represented well enough in WoW imo
+Aradhya Srivastava There would have been no way for the nerubians to know, so I think they thought Anub turned on them, returning as a death machine rather than some one who did not want to perform his tasks. Anub doesn't apologise while in combat or anything like that. There was an old theory, until the short story Road to damnation came out that Anub gave himself willingly to the Lich king, better fitting this name.
+Six Gamers Maybe you could do a Lore-Episode on many of those minor characters at some point. Like the demons, just with a few popular cards that don´t have much loe. Dr. Boom is also really minor as far as I know. Anyways, keep up the good work, it´s always a pleasure seeing these.
Why is it that everyone hates the lich king's minions? I thought people understood that once you die you don't have your own will anymore, anu'barak says this himself
I'm not sure.... but shouldn't nerubians be a servants of the old gods? Like, they were aquir once and served old gods... Mantids and qiraji served their masters when they found them again (well, qiraji did and mantids said that they will if their master will come back to life one day). And so that is what bugging me... that faceless ones that nerubians fought during spider wars should be their masters... sort of... so why nerubians fought them?.. are they some sort of rebels?..
+Nightheven123 Decent question. Perhaps Nerubians forgot their ties or became more ambitious than the other insectoid races. Though this is conjecture. I haven't got round to finishing Warcraft: Chronicles yet, maybe the answer lies in there!
+Six Gamers Yeah, hopefully there would be some kind of hits on this matter. The only idea i had is that there were some minions of another old god (as from what i know nerubians worshiped Yogg'saron)... probably N'Zoth, as i remember faceless ones are his signature minions... But then again, why would they be there in the first place?.. Anyway, hopefully in some of the chronicles voluems there will be some hints on this matter
"Defeat but not death of kel'Thuzad" He's still alive!? does this mean he is now one of Bolvar's generals or will he lead an undead resistance to become the Lich, Lich King :o
Since there is no evidence that there is another Queen, how are the living Nerubian supposed to reproduce? Dont think they have a chance to get their kingdom back...
+Tenebris Fractum Since it was after Anub, I didn't mention it in this video. But it's revealed they managed to hide away a huge stash of eggs to pretty much rebuild the entire society during the Cataclysm expansion. It's definitely not the last time we'll see the nerubians :) I also recon there probably are a few surviving queens, they're just extremely well hidden and guarded
... all of this and Anub'Rekhan doesn't even respond when you play him in Hearthstone... Atleast Anub'Arak makes a witty comment about him in Heroes of the storm!
While it's an interesting idea, I don't think you need to address the game mechanics as part of the "lore," especially since they're not exactly air-tight from a lore standpoint.
+ajaxtaur The reason I do is because I've had requests to include them. :S I try not to get too hung up on it as I do actually agree with you a little :P
+Isaiah M. Not going to happen with this type of content. I prefer to do long form. Though did recently start a shorter list series that very briefly touches on lore :)
