ClanDabiDosey Official I have a 100% winrate against them with my rogue deck, it's just that it's more fun to watch paint dry than to play against them.
OMG I played against this guy. I remember the name Thrall. He was rank 17 at the time and he was miracle rogue. He flogged me yo, but it was fun. Can't believe it!
you need to change the title of this to "getting rank 1 in hearthstone" you'll get way more views that way. Also it's pretty awesome that when you achieve rank 1 you become the innkeeper
steve Thraxx Don't be ignorant, age is relative? the first 10% of hearthstone"s life was featured in this video, that's like saying a mouse is young because it's only a year old
steve Thraxx Yea, so neither did I, do you even know what that means? Oh, should I have said "good times from about a year ago" then?! Welcome to the internet, where this term is commonly used for this exact situation.
Colma yah and It even functions as melee weapon (u got damage to the face) which makes it even more weird to call it a bow which I consider indirect damage like the mage hero spell. but I guess that would make it quite powerful? its like having two frostbolts equipped if it was functionin like a proper bow :D
Re sas there are many cards getting retweaked perhaps the next nerfing wave is against the secrets/bow hunter? i dont know I just find kill command pretty OP but maybe thats just me
These videos don't seem that old, but it shows how players have improved in a few months. Thrall makes a couple of misplays in the first one. He kills a minion and then unleashes after and there was something else that I'm not remembering at the moment. You rarely see those kinds of mistakes now, especially from the legendary ranks.
Michael Jordan Yeah, these games are a few months old, but that particular season I climbed to legend without the use of any legendaries, so it can definitely be done. That is not to say that legendaries aren't useful, they certainly have their places in a lot of decks like most other cards.
nice commentary :) would be nice maybe to see more vids like this maybe you explain a bit more the playstyle or something! i build myself a tempo rogue and its really fun playing it keep up the good work
Xiaoxuan Wang Thanks! It was early in the season so there were probably under 100 people at legend, I assume I was the highest ranked player who queued up at the same time as him.
Hey colma i know you probably wont respond but i like playing rogues in Hearthstone... i am sitting around rank 20 but cant get any higher..I am struggling with my deck, it used to be a decent Mech Rogue deck but now i cant win a single game i am going like 0-10... any tips????
Joshua Cole I don't know how long you have been playing for. Keep in mind that it is early in the season meaning that people who used to be at much higher ranks have fallen down again. So you might be playing vs people who used to be at rank 10 now who are playing their way back up to there. I think one of the first things to focus on when you're just starting out is making good trades, try to get "2 for 1" If you can kill 2 minions with your one minion that gives you card advantage which goes a long way towards winning games. Cards that are good at giving that kind of advantage are SI:7 Agent because you can often kill a 3/2 minion when you combo it and then kill another minion with it later as well. Deadly Poison can help you do the same thing with your dagger. If you can get a lot of good trades like that you should at least win some of the time. You can link me your deck if you want me to give you some suggestions too.
Joshua Cole That's a good basic deck it could certainly be improved by some non basic cards. I'm guessing you don't have most of the cards right now, some cards you could replace with common or rare cards are Common 1xKobold Geomancer+1xShiv -> 2xEviscerate 2xChillwind Yeti-> 2xPiloted Shredder 2xShattered Cleric -> 2xHarvest Golem Rare 2xGnomish Engineer-> 2xAzure Drake 1xRazorfen Hunter + 1xShiv-> 2xSI:7 Agent If you don't have them now, consider crafting some of them in the future. I think that would improve your deck.
+Matt Cummins Well to be fair midrange hunter became all the rage a few weeks after I made this video. Then it turned into super aggro again, as hunter always seems to fall back to.
Jax Friedman Unfortunately I have not been able to make similar decks to this one work very well anymore, I think oil rogue is simply superior at the moment.
So all classes have different rating? cant decide wich one try out, HS or DoC.. anyone got some decent advice? from watching HS videos i fee like it's more casual than some other TCG and too much RNG?..
hey i got 2 questions, 1. can Young explain me "combo" pls? 2. i saw someone used Deck Tracker, why dont YOU use it? Because its not fair or you just want to habe some fun without... Cheating? --> ismit actually cheating?
OG Dyonisos 1. Combo means that you use two things at the same time with synergy, like the old hunter combo of buzzard + unleash the hounds, or druid force of nature + savage roar. 2. That's a good question, it almost feels like cheating but I don't think it really is. At the moment I don't want to use it, I mean I wouldn't be able to use it either if I was at an important offline tournament like at Blizzcon, so better get used to remembering cards than relying on a program to do it for you.
+OG Dyonisos It isn't cheating, you can write down your deck on a piece of paper or make a document on your computer and cross out cards as you get them and have the same effect... It's just easier with a tracker.
I like this video cuz it shows that even the top players can't do anything with poor card draw. this literally demonstrates how random card draw takes skill almost completely out of the game. ALMOST. there is some, SOME, amount of making good choices. but it's really negligible compared to getting good draw.
***** I tend to play whatever is working best for me at the time when climbing. I have played shaman a few times during the climb and posted it as well. It has been a while though! I will probably play some more shaman again sometime.
and you know that because you could see all his options, and you think that he just lets anyone just use his account. hey there timmy, my 8 year old brother, wanna play on my legend account? there ya go!.
Axel Mac Donald I think it was because he was frustrated and couldn't come up with a solid play. He killed the knife juggler earlier during the turn since he was sure he needed to kill it, he didn't want to use unleash there, but when the rope started burning he realized he had to do something.
YoloMcSwagger I don't know if you realize it but this video is about a year old. I'm not sure how competitive the deck is today but I believe the deck was close to this www.hearthpwn.com/decks/48331-colma-tempo-rogue-no-legendaries-legend-rank Glad you like it!
I can't tell if you're joking or not. It takes skill only to a certain point, then it's just what you drew vs what your opponent drew. Players that were legend ranked are often beaten by people of higher ranks.
Alexander Reichert I never said that they did. Im just saying that they have at least one legendary card in their decks. nobody of those guys would be Legend Rank if they would play with the basic deck.
he was playing the legendary trap hunter deck the point of the deck is that you can keep the weapon troughout the entire game because u keep flowing the traps but yeah great play great commentary definitly keep it up! legendary 1 jeez thats crazy yo
Glad you like the videos! These games were played before this kind of deck became common, back then it was mostly aggro hunters, the whole midrange hunter thing had not become popular yet.
+william waddell Yes, it will try to match you up with other legends but if no other legends queue at the same time then it will match you up with someone lower. These games were played early in the season so there weren't many legends yet.
Will Crase It was something close to this www.hearthpwn.com/decks/48331-colma-tempo-rogue-no-legendaries-legend-rank that's the final deck I used to get to legend that season. However the deck is over a year old so I don't think it is anywhere near optimal anymore.
+bubbaste steve Not necessarily net decks - it just so happens that at top level you have to have the best deck. Or that deck doesn't exist. You can just build a deck that will have certain pros and cons. But you only have 30 cards to fulfill that objective. So it has to be perfectly optimized. As it turns out, net decks are made by those who are top ranked, because they optimized those as much as possible. Since at a given time these decks will be the best ones available to play in the given meta (called Tier 1 decks), people will play those. So, at top rank, the deck is irrelevant, since everybody runs similar decks with very little differences. What makes a bit of difference, is skill. But you actually don't have that many occasions to show it since most turns will be ... scholarly if you catch my drift. So, the main factor at top rank, and, as a Legend player it truly pains me to say so, is a lot of luck.
Rocco siffredi They were added in mid march 2014 I believe. That was one month before this video. Wins were not retroactive, so he would have needed 500 wins with hunter in a month to have it by then.
must be exciting to play against #1 :) today i played about 5 hunter games and destroyed some of the control-warriors or paladins. and it is very common that you get invited after game and they say something like "people playing those hunter rush decks ruin the game" is it bad to play aggro hunter when i dont have all those legendary cards for a control deck? i mean when even #1 plays hunter, it must be good :)
Yeah I have never agreed with all the people talking bad about people for whatever strategy they are using in any game. I think if it is in the game and it is not a bug then it is fair. If they have problems with the current meta and want to stay competitive they need to adjust their own decks for it.
Colma I agree. The sad part is, there are many hunters in the EU ladder that aren't able to play well. Hunters at rank 2 use 'Kill Command' and realize afterwards that the 'Hound Master' isn't a beast after my Yeti stays alive. Others play the buzzard after playing a beast. Some even skip turns but would have had enough mana to use the hero ability before doing so. So: IT SEEMS that playing a common hunter doesn't require you to think very much to climb the ladder. And that's definetely something that can be really frustrating if you are playing a class or deck that are (apparently) more sophisticated. ;-)
McRusen the new midrange hunter is like the fat creatures of the druid combined with little control elements and taunts. so nothing bad. there are hunter players outside with a lot of skill, knowing their deck and know how to play against control warrior, druid or something else. you cant just slam creature by creature and attack to win. it was so frustrating to lose against control warrior or druid, so let the hunter play his bigger creatures now that he can also win by using his 6 mana spells :)
McRusen I have a theory that many of the high ranked hunters who play terrible did not get there with hunters. I have seen it a lot when watching my wife climb from 10 to 5, hunters who had no idea what they were doing, they usually lost so I don't think they got there playing hunters, but instead just tried it because they were frustrated in a rut and wanted to try the hot new thing.
Kalamestari Yeah sure. But that means that he did beat everyone in his region right? So he is good. You think he is the only one who plays hunter? Also he did use 2 different decks the 2 times they played. Maybe he got to be legend with another deck. You cant know
ThatAwesomesauce he probably did the miss play out of spite, the game was pretty much over by that point anyway, he was just going through the motions on the off chance
And of course it's a hunter. Especially on start and for all the time you don't have the higher end cards, they are simply overpowered, and not just by a bit! No respect for that guy hitting first in competitive levels.
at 5:30 ish you should have dropped the ooze next to the agent as then you would have had more chance of protecting the juggler with your argus if he didnt clear the juggler next go
Tapas The gold pentagon means that the player is at legend rank which is when you graduate from regular rank 1. At legend rank it shows your actual position out of all people at legend rank, so the 1 in the pentagon means you are the highest ranked player on the server.
Tapas It was relatively early in the season, so even though I was not legend myself there was most likely less than 500 people ranked higher than me, chances are I was the highest ranked player other than him queuing at the moment.
+Jo ha He messed up, I'm guessing at first he had a different play in mind, but then he changed his mind around the time that the rope started to burn.

Xdll119 might have been me i used to shoot at the face if i didn't have any decent turn 1 options, i would go in with the strategy of making every manna crystal count
+jacob norris You can still pick your name as Thrall. There can be a 1000 people with the same name, Blizzard attaches battle net IDs to differentiate people though.
suvituja Yeah he is still around, I play him from time to time, he gets to legend every season and often gets to top 100 as well I believe, not sure if he has been number 1 again though!
After wasting a lot of time i finаllу fоund out a woooorking HearthStoneeee Chеats .It’s Wоrking, vеryy easy useeeе. > Hеarthstoneeee Two games vs thе number 1 rаnked legеnd Sеason 1
Oliver Mackay You forgot that you got number 1 legend in the past? Haha, naah up to 10000 people can have the same name on battle.net thanks to the 4 digit number after the name.
2nd game you should have gone face with 6/6 and saved soul fire, and not risk losing doom gaurd...very bad play, you wasted 10 damage on two 2/1 s. Lolololol. But seriously wasted 10 damage, you have lethal in a couple turns
Danny Dingo It's easy to say things like that when you know how the whole entire fight will play out in a video. It's different when you don't know what the next play is. You know, like when your playing a live game.
+Raktar Raktar are you serious? How can he Leeroy, unleash and timber wolf? Its turn 4? the most he could do is Leeroy. @9:50 is the point we are talking about?? The best play there should be to dark Iron Dwarf and go face for 8! @ 26 health you are very safe at leaving the 2 2/1s on board. We would have a 4/4 and 6/6 on board, and put the hunter down to 21 health and ready to put hunter down to 11 next turn. following up the next turn with soul fire and dire wolf for lethal!. One of the best way to kill hunter is to rush them down first, hunter is very bad at responding to a rush down. Spending a bunch of resources like he did just gives hunter more time to use hero power and get more dmg cards. A good hearthstone player would realize discarding a card, burning 10 dmg to remove 2 2/1s is playing it overly TOO! safe!, Paranoid play! especially when you have such an aggressive play to make and put on your opponent in tough spot while not being in any danger yourself. So Raktar instead of just thinking you need to automatically clear the creatures because of leeroy and unleash, take a look at the turn we are on, your opponents manna, then look at both the health of you and opponent and cards in your hand and make the best decision. Playing dark iron dwarf and going face for 8 was the best play. You dont have to be legend to figure that out. BtW im one of the best Arena players on the server I dont play much ranked play. over 5,500 arena wins @78.7 % win rate Claimjumpr
Damia Tan There was no way for me to achieve lethal that turn. If I had used eviscerate I would not have been able to dagger up so I would still be 1 damage short.
Der Mces Ehhhmmm. You don't need combo and rush to win games. The first match he either had a terrible hand or he was just running a slower hunter deck which focuses on control. The second match he DID rush.
