Growing up in the 1950’s my family had a home and a rental house with a large backyard that was an orchard. It had a small patch of rhubarb. There were trees that provided an abundance of fruit such as pears, peaches, blue and red plums, and the entire perimeter was lined with tart cherry trees. My mother was a fantastic cook and baker. She topped many kuchens with fruit and thick cream from a local farmer. There was a Concord grape vine that was my favorite. But her strawberry rhubarb pies were a special treat. I long got those days when good food was abundant and made with love. You can’t buy that in any store. ❤

Look at all that sugar you put in. ahhhhhhh! I always love these open fire cooking recipes you do. It's been a bit since you last did one! They are fun but I am sure they are a load of work, plus with the heat already outside on top of the fire's heat, it must be a bit much on your energy. Love your overalls by the way!
