From Wikipedia:
90125 is the eleventh album by progressive rock group Yes, released in 1983. It was the first album since the breakup of Yes in 1980. It is also the first album to feature Trevor Rabin, and features the return of vocalist Jon Anderson, who had quit the band in 1980. It also marked the first time in twelve years that original keyboardist Tony Kaye had appeared with the group.
The album was simply titled after its Atco Records catalogue number (for example, 7-90125-1 for the LP). Contrary to rumour, it was not named after an American ZIP code, nor is "90125" even an actual ZIP code.

Just a wonderful, wonderful song. "90125" is an amazingly effective concentration of disparate talents - possibly the best production job in the history of music thanks to Trevor Horn.

+Chuck Lang ...this is my favorite album from Yes. I know the older generation prefers "Roundabout", but musicians have to keep up with the times. And this album certainly did, with out losing their original sound.

This is not their original sound. This was very eighties. It might sound more like the older stuff than the rest of the album but that's not saying much. It's a good album but it's nothing like their older material which was far more adventurous and far less commercial.

Amazing ending to an amazing album. Love the progression and build of of the song and the introspective somewhat melancholy finish that almost leaves me a little breathless. Definitely wore this vinyl out.

+Chris Anslinger Me too. One of the first 10 albums I ever bought. Unfortunately the tape melted into the cassette holder during my 1st move away from home (don't ask). Gladly replaced it with a CD which at least had the lyrics.

Hearts will always remind me of the grandparents, married 61 years. "Pop" died April 26, 1996. Gramma, November 23, 1990. The evening after Pop's funeral I was driving around aimlessly, with 90125 playing on the car stereo. When Hearts came on, I swear their spirits were in the car with me. And as the song ended (As we flow down life's rivers...) they told me everything will be OK. They're together again, and no need to worry about them. Great song and video. this song has so many memories....although the first time i heard it led to a relationship that collapsed, I am so glad of the lessons I learned from it....this song is a poignant reminder that not everything that ends is a disaster...sometimes the bittersweet memories make it all worthwhile.

One of the best YES songs ever. Specifically in the post-Drama era. I’m a huge Yes fan and prog rock fan. I’m late to enjoying the 90125 but I’ve recently have come to LOVE it. Jon and Chris vocals are outstanding. This song makes me want to cry wow!

I remember seeing Yes in Hershey PA in 1985 at the football stadium, it was one fo those picturesue days and they were performing this song, I said to buddy (who was not a Yes fan) "What do you think?".... He simply "I cannot believe it.. they are crazy good"... This song is absolutely superb, but the whole album is superb, every song on it, not a loser in the bunch...

I discovered this by accident 3 or so years ago. I knew of the hits from this album, but not the deeper tracks. What i did was put my Playstation 3 playlist on in this racing game 'Ferrari the race experience' i had. The game was grindy with many championships. I was driving around in rain in one of the races and this came on. I was hooked ever since. Amazing, amazing song.

Thank you so much for posting this. I'm insanely crazy about the Yes album 90125, and this song in particular literally takes my breath away, brings tears to my eyes and by the end leaves my heart aching for more. My god, that last guitar solo starting at 5:58, in my mind is one of the most moving I've ever heard... . Being that Hearts is the last song on the album, might they have intentionally "saved the best for last"? :) A brave move, but speaks to how spectacular the entire album is and the sheer fact that the musicians believed most would revel in its glory, through to the end... time and time, again!

And you won't know it unless you play the entire album. I had a very brief conversation with Chris Squire about the album, which was just released at the time. He literally begged me to listen to entire album right up to the end. Some of my good bass player friends have gone on to glory, in recent years. RIP my friend Chris. RIP my brother Jorge Casas.

@Eric Erickson It ha always been confusing to me whether Rabin or Kaye put down the original demo tracks. Clearly they were replaced during the final production of 90125. I do know for certain that all the Hammond organ parts, and at least some of the keyboard performances are Kaye with others done by Rabin. I'm also pretty sure "Hearts" and "Cinema" were later additions to the album as they were co-written with the band (and Anderson on "Hearts"). I'm guessing Kaye played everything on those two tracks and added that keyboard intro at the beginning of "Hearts." That Hammond solo in the middle of "Hearts" has to be Kaye.

@@bastidface In the Wikipedia page for this album, Kaye indeed quit because he didn't want to do any synth parts, so Rabin did those (which is confusing cause on The Yes Album Kaye wound up doing some early synth work). AAR, I consider this 1 of the best closing songs ever for an album & 1 of the best albums ever.

@@JoeVideoed Yes, it's very confusing, and I suppose we'll never really know exactly who did what. However, I'm willing to bet that Kaye played some synths on 90125, at least on "Cinema," "Hold On," and "Hearts," with the rest being Hammond and piano. Oddly, he did end up getting comfortable playing a DX-7 on the 90125 tour and played an assortment of synths on "Big Generator" and follow up tours. But he did stick to Hammond for "Talk." And I agree, "Hearts" is an amazing song that still raises the hair on the back of my neck. I'm still hoping for a true one-off union album and tour that would bridge the 80's and 70's Yes with some bold new material by Rabin, Howe, and Anderson. Squire would be severely missed, but Billy is very capable. There would be a lot of cooks, but if the recipes are kept simple, the performers do what they do best, and members don't step on each others feet, it could be done. It'll never happen, but one can dream.

Yes! it was a GREAT tour! I saw it with my brother and a friend of ours in Detroit, us sibs skipping out early from doing the company's yearly inventory! HA! There were 8 members of the band from various times... both drummers and keyboardists, and Trevor Rabin introduced, although IMO you can't beat the stylings of the original.. God rest him! VERY cool, was Amazing Grace in the encore!!!

It takes you on a journey from a foggy Mississippi River delta to out beyond Orion's Belt, and safely home again. The fog horn just about kills me... So much sadness mixed within lyrics, tempos, instrumental embellishments and key changes in one of the most exotic yet triumphant pieces of music ever from Yes.

Growing up, I knew all the radio hits on here, even remember when the 'Owner of a lonely heart' video premiered. Never heard this song until about 2 years ago when I finally got this album. Instantly fell in love with this incredible song. Amazing stuff.

Beyond gorgeous. Deeply lyrical and touching, like the entire album. 90125 is THE apex of 80s production, with HUGE real drums played masterfully by probably the most underrated drummer of all time, Alan White. Jon's vocals at the end are emotionally shattering.

This album, overall, saved the band, and gave them longevity. What blows me away, is as popular as Owner of a Lonely Heart was, almost every other song is better. Especially this one :)
