I know you don't like suggestions + you probably already recorded this, but the Waking the Tiger DLC actually adds a decision to reform Rome as italy once you take certain provinces (a whole fucking lot obv). It may interest you, + you get the aesthetic change to a proper roman one and cores on fucking everything. I did it for byzantium as greece and it might also have historical naming templates for inf as well
Hey legend, when you are taking territory (like you were in Africa), and you are worried about it going to your ally nearby, don't push from your allies borders. Go around, and push from your borders in from the other. Also, use your command points to get traits for your generals - that is what they are really awesome for. Traits like skirmisher, winter expert, infantry expert, etc. Very, very useful. And another thing that bothers me when I see you play this that I feel is a small execution difference that could have helped you tons in some parts of this campaign already... When you are trying to blitz through somewhere there is a hole - you can stop your blitzing divisions. And then have all your other divisions attack the nearby points to get them to defend, and then move in your rapid force to take between them - while they are all locked down.
Alternatively, when you have none of your own borders to expand from, parachute them behind the lines, preferably with a line of each going beyond it until you have your own line of regions behind, then advance from there. Bypasses any allied region gaining :)
Legend I would appriciate if you would change (if possible) some settings so the UI could look bigger (for future campaigns). On 23'' monitor it is very small. BTW thanks for a campaign :)
Matko Bednjanec I think on Paradox games you can't change the ui size, at least that's been my experience on Crusader Kings II (limited sample size, I know, but it's the only one I own). It's super frustrating for watching and playing.
the thing is that other youtubers who are playing HOI4 have much bigger UI, now I don't know why legend has this "problem" but I assume that legend is a crafty man and that he can figure this shit out :D . P.S. UI was also very small on shogun 2 campaigns, some warhammer campaigns (norsca). P.P.S. It might be that Legend is playing this in 3840 × 2160 resolution or something like that
Presuming you'll play the major powers and maybe one or two smaller ones, will you be playing any mods for this like Kaiserreich? Will you at least use small mods that are quality of life improvements after your first game? And can we make a list or something of the QOL mods for you with a small descriptor of what they do just for ease of search? One of my favorite series, let's hope Paradox releases a decent DLC for it soon and stops being outdone by modders!
Legend, you probably already know this but it's good to have front lines and attack plans drawn (even if you don't use them) because you get a planning bonus that really goes a long way in a successful offensive. Keep up the good work!
Samuel Pomfret i get where you come from, its just that i like that series i wanna watch more of it. He used to spam few episodes first but now one by one
Wow, Jerusalem, Morocco, and deepest darkest Bongo Bongo, all at the same time. Good work. Oh, and I think African resources just aren't exploitable within the timeframe of the game. The iron mines of France are already open; the African resources aren't even prospected yet.
Funny how he uses a commander who turns against the Axis towards the center of the Second World War to command his army. Let's hope he doesn't keep Italy in the Axis powers forever.
Africa was developed post WW 2 and massive investments from Western powers increased production, infrastructure and new discoveries of resources throughout the continent.
Quill18 has a good tutorial video, and Shenryyr is great to actually watch regular Let's Plays. Shenryyr doesn't upload to RU-vid anymore, just streams on Twitch, but he has a lot of really good old videos from previous campaigns on his RU-vid channel :)
you are wasting your breath legend usualy doesn t take requests or a simple game advice not trying to be a dick but just so you don t get pissed at legend because he doesn t respond
too much effort, lot of mountainous terrain, will result in heavy casualties just for some aluminum, manpower and a couple of factories. so its understandable why he doesn't do it, could be he will do it in a later episode but right now the swiss are not his top priority
A lot of the mechanics are very historically accurate, in the way that it makes it easy to learn and intuitive. You don't even really need to know how most mechanics work because you can just infer what they mean.

This game is really in depth with managing a war machine. But it would be really cool if you could zoom in real close to see the battles even cooler if you control the armies like on total war, fortifying front lines with reinforced structures and what not. Its still a very great game though, like RISK on DMT
