Heartstopper Season 3 Teaser/Announcement REACTION! 

Well, you were infinitely more chill than me about this LOL

I was at work when it dropped, but I subtly went to the bathroom and watched it without sound. When I finally properly watched it after I got home, well, in the recent words of Olivia Colman, I had a little cry (please, someone get the reference). Blue and yellow trash cans. 🤪 Of course. When the new character Instagram profile pics were being passed around, I immediately noticed Darcy's hair. I'm glad to see she rocks it for the whole season. It's very cool! Same with Elle's hair. 🥰 Gorgeous. The Tori and Charlie hug in the ferris wheel is everything. 🥹 I'm so excited for THAT scene from volume 5 to be included. AAAAAH. Last year, we got a similar announcement in April and the release date for S2 was in August. This year, they announced an October release date in March. The math isn't mathing. 🤔 Oh well, it's obviously going to be worth the wait, so I'll ~try~ to be patient (can't make any promises). Hope the packing and moving process is going well! It's so fun to get new Heartstopper things to chat about!

I wonder if Tao's new hobby is theater. I feel like nobody talked about him doing the school play before season 1. It's similar to his interest in photography/film but something we haven't seen before.

I cannot stop obsessing over whether this upcoming season is the last or not. I remember reading that Alice wanted a season 4, but that is up to Netflix, of course. If this is the last, I have a fantasy about the ending. It's one where they project into future and show grown-up versions of Nick and Charlie (either through things like growing beards, or AI alterations, or makeup) holding a baby or toddler and walking off into the sunset. This show has given or restored so much hope to so many. Its message that love always wins, kindness prevails, friends and lovers support each other is so important for us see. It is fiction, of course, and Alice Oseman's characters live an idealized life, yes, but isn't that what need to try to emulate everyday in our real lives? I will be sad if this is the end, but so lucky to have experienced this phenomenon called Heartstopper in my lifetime.

I think it’s definitely film/photography, and Tao is going to come up with something sweet to cheer up Charlie while he’s in the hospital. Watch this space! On Tori being affected by Charlie’s struggles, Alice has confirmed that This Winter is being adapted in S3, so we’ll probably see some of that there. I also am hoping we’ll see Nick and Charlie’s argument and Charlie’s relapse, which is mentioned in vol 4 and explored more in Solitaire. How Tori and Charlie deal with the aftermath of that would definitely touch on the effects on both siblings. Alice has actually said that the Charlie/Tori convo on the Ferris Wheel will be tweaked and will not follow the comic exactly. Tori won’t be coming out as ace this season - that will be explored more in S4 if they get one. Alice says the convo will be more relevant to Tori and Charlie’s relationship and the arc of S3. I’m hoping it will be similar to some of the conversations they have in Solitaire about being vulnerable and letting other people in, which would tie in nicely with Charlie’s vol 4/5 journey.

*heartstopper volume 5 spoilers* (For as much as I hate getting heartstopper later) I kinda hope that it comes out sometime in the last week of October, because the last week of October is asexual awareness week and tori comes out to Charlie as asexual. Seeing Tori and Charlie get on the ferris wheel, know tori about to come out, made me tear up. I was reading volume 5 as it came out, but i didn’t realize I was asexual until after that strip of her coming out was released. The time I read volume 5 when I realized I was ace, I also cried. I will most definitely cry at that part. (I mean I will already be crying lol)

Waking up to the trailer today was a nice experience. It filled me with so much happiness and excitement that it cancelled out the dreaded wait time for it. I also def didn't go into a slight deep dive of people's postings lol It's hard to not want to talk about comic spoilers but the amount of hype I have for certain scenes and moments hopefully arriving in the show is massive. Great to hear we'll be getting more of Tori in the show and her life alongside CHarlie's. It'll be neat to see if they wrote in some development for Darcy exploring her appearance and such so Kizzy can forgo the wigs and be comfy. (I will be afraid if we see Darcy's home life in reaction to it lol) Honestly the best part of the show has been delving more into the other characters so seeing more of Tao's growth into his hobbies with photography/film and maybe being more confident in himself will be so nice! And hopefully more conversations with Issac discussing his sexuality with the group and everyone being super supportive of him. My baby needs a hug after last season. Which would be dope to also see that lead into Tori's story with her "new friend" and the ferris wheel. It is also great to see everyone having a good time behind the scenes like Leila playfully biting Tobie's ear lol I've also seen a few people online point out that *maybe* we can see Charlie's scars this season in very blurry close-ups. I don't know if we actually would since we've seen Charlie in a short sleeve before, but it'd be a nice touch though i also understand if they don't wanna show it. Just the whole vibe of them filming seems so fun and full of life which hopefully means Episode 8 will have a very happy resolution of everyone finding their place and who they are as they step closer to the world of adulthood. What a great birthday present for you as well XD Cannot wait for a proper trailer and what will emotionally destroy me eventually lol

As I've read around in comments (here and for other channels), I've noticed a few questions about time frames within the stories (as written in the books) as well as the ages of the characters vs. ages of the actors. Because I'm a bit on the obsessively persistent side, I re-read volumes 4 and 5 as well as the novella "Nick and Charlie" and took notes of both when things happened and Nick's and Charlie's ages at distinct points in time (as mentioned in the books). As I list times/events, I'll try to stay general in order to avoid anything obviously spoilery. *** *** *** *** 1. According to Charlie's phone at the end of Season 2, Episode 8, it was July 11th. 2. August (a month later) is when Volume 4 begins a) August 11 is when the shower scene takes place b)August 12 is when Nick and his family leave to go on holiday for 3 weeks 3. September 1-ish, the new school year begins. a)Nick is now in Year 12, and Charlie is in Year 11. b) September 4, is Nick's birthday -- when he turns 17. 4. Early December ends a 4-month time lapse. a) During that interval Charlie's ED worsens b) And he seeks medical help. 5. December 25 marks a difficult Christmas, especially for Charlie. a) The book "This Winter" expands on the events of Christmas Day. 6. December 31 a) Nick writes in his journal about the events of the past few months. b) New Year's Eve -- Nick helps Charlie ease back into socializing 7. First week of January a) After the Christmas holidays, Charlie returns to school. b) [It's now a year after Charlie and Nick met, Season 1, episode 1.] 8. September -- 3 months later -- school year begins a) Nick begins attending university. b) Nick turns 18 c) Charlie remains at Truham for Year 13 [During Charlie's Year 13, in April, he will turn 18] 14. The following September -- another school year. a) Nick's second year at university begins. b) Nick turns 19 *** *** *** I read a comment, in which someone wondered whether Kit Connor and Joe Locke would be able to play the parts if there were more seasons than 4. [My following comments are hypothetical based on whether the actors would be willing and able to continue...] Someone said the actors would be too old to play "schoolboys." However, if future seasons begin after the events of "Nick and Charlie," the characters would be adults in their early 20s, no longer schoolboys. As for the actors ... 1. While Kit Connor was filming season 3, he was 19, and this March 4th, he turned 20. The time frame of the 3 books covers the periods when Nick is 17 and 18. So for season 3, Kit will be/was about 2 years older than Nick. If there is a season 4 and if filming begins in October (as it did for season 3), Kit will be 20 still. 2. Joe Locke is about 6 months older than Kit; He was 20 when season 3 was filming. The time frame of the 3 books covers the periods when Charlie is 16 and 17. So for season 3, Joe will be/was about 3 years older than Charlie Again, if there is a season 4 and if filming begins in October, Joe will be 21. *** *** *** If there are seasons beyond season 4, what would the characters' ages be? After season 4, the story would most likely continue after the time frame of the Novella "Nick and Charlie." At the end of "Nick and Charlie," Charlie will be 18 and a little later Nick will be 19 (because of when their birthdays land). At the rate of character vs actor ageing, the actors could be about 2 years older than their characters. But If the story has time jumps the way volume 4 and "Nick and Charlie" did, their age differences would be less. In other words, the actors would be adults playing adults of similar age. Given all that, future seasons, beyond the 4th, could be created with age-appropriate actors.

So excited about this teaser and appreciate you taking the time to make this whilst preparing for your move. One thing i noticed on this second (or third) watching is that Tara/Corinna isn't shown at all. We do get a glimpse of Michael in the foreground of the scene where Nick and Charlie (or Kit and Joe) are at the picnic table. I am SUPER excited that Johnathan Bailey is going to be in this season. I've loved him in everything I've seen him in - Crashing, Fellow Travelers and Bridgerton.

I’m trying to wrap my mind around the fact they are covering both book 4 and 5 in one season. That is a lot of material to cover in 8 episodes.

I was just not ready to process this but I’m mostly angry that it’s releasing IN OCTOBER 😭 However, the visuals look stunning.

Thank you for your reaction video. You always make me laugh. I'm looking forward to the whole Heartstopper universe expansion. Every character has a place in my heart so to see them again, their journey and development will be a treat. Tao as a stand up comedian would be hilarious. I am glad that even though we know the books, there still will be many surprises for us. And I am excited to hear the new music as well. Yay! I am mostly excited about more Tori - love her shirt in this trailer, she looks awesome! I'm slightly anxious for all the characters we don't see in this snippet but I have faith in the final product. I am mostly gutted that we have to wait till October and a bit nervous that this could be the last season. They wouldn't do that to us, right?!

Season 3 feels more cozy mostly because we didn’t see Harry and Ben yet lol

I am looking forward to see if they make this season the end of the series or we will find out that it will be picked up for future seasons. As the actors find more success and acting jobs, that will be more and more difficult. But we can hope for more.

I'm looking forward for what this season brings although I'm not sure what made Netflix think it should be included in "heartwarmers", because I feel like our hearts are about to be crushed, if anything (I feel like they shot the promo during the 8th episode because it's gonna be the happiest one in the season). As for the ferris wheel scene, today I've read Alice mentioning somewhere that it's a bit tweaked and the topic they talk about will be slightly different, so I'm curious what they mean by that. I've also read that there will be swearing involved which is good (and I'm not saying that because I enjoy f-words flying around, but because I still can't forget about Nick telling Harry off with "I really don't like you!" in S1 😀). With all due respect to Nick and Charlie, I'm super excited to see Darcy's non-binary storyline, more of Tori (I love Jenny Walser) and of course Michael Holden. 💜
