Dorie is so filled with delight. She makes it fun to watch as she obviously enjoys making these muffins. Waiting patiently until next Tuesday when her new cookbook is released. Proud of you too, Dorie!
Dorie I’ve followed you for years on the radio and I own several of your books, but I’ve never seen you on video! Now I’m an even bigger fan! I could watch you all day long, Dorie. I’m so happy you’ve brought your infectious enthusiasm for food to RU-vid.
I've been a fan of Dorie's recipes and cookbooks for years, but I had no idea what a delight she was in person (well on video). Thank you for this. Plan to try these over the weekend. I love how simple she makes it... how much fun she is... and how she doesn't require English muffin rounds or what not.
Delightful! Both the recipe and Dorie herself! I immediately went to my kitchen and started making them. At midnight, I'm almost done griddling them. Looking forward to breakfast in the morning. Thank you for such a fun recipe/video!
This is real ASMR!! We need more goddess gram energy!! She's beautiful and fills the need to watch my granny bake. 👵 Lost her to covid. Thank you for sharing the good vibes.
I totally agree, she’s adorable! So sorry about your granny! Wishing you happy baking (my grandma was an awesome baker and I think about her when I bake, makes my heart happy) Blessings to you.
I have made EM in the past but they have not has the puff or texture I want so I will try your recipe. Thank you. Was fun watching someone that truly enjoys the process of food.
I love watching her! It really feels like I'm there with her as a friend and she's just enjoying playing with food and creating one of my favorite things!!
We just picked up the "Baking with Dorie" cookbook. It is awesome. There are so many recipes that are on our to do list. The English muffin recipe is in the book.
For anyone who is on the fence, I just made these today with the video and online recipe ... they're absolutely delicious! Highly recommend weighing out your measurements and resting the dough overnight. So moist with a beautiful crisp on the outside!
Thank you Food52 for bringing Dorie back for more delicious delights. I have been on the fence about making my own English Muffins but have now changed my outlook. With those store bought muffins I split them, slather some butter on them then put them on the griddle. As I find the toaster desiccates them too much and is not a nice texture. But these are different and worth the time put into preparing them.
Dorie is who I imagine when Michael Scott says Holly has the sweetness and warmth of a lady baker. I'm pretty sure she's baked on a professional level.
It’s a moot point - you definitely want the WRITTEN recipe! How many times have we heard the wrong amount spoken vs the actual recipe, then everyone gripes and asks what’s the real amount? All the time. The ONLY recipes I’ll cook off the screen is America’s Test Kitchen - those folks are freaking precise. lol
This was so relaxing to watch. Loved the cartoon yellow stars when Dorie was smacking the muffins. She has inspired me to try making them. When she took the muffins out of the toaster: 💚💙❤️
