It is hard to understand why the local people are trying to defend the bad work of the PWD contractor who took away huge amount of public fund în constructing such a bad black topping road within Haflong town area. Now the black topping road is becoming kutcha road. Even so, they don't want to let other people know about the condition of the road. ??? One can say that they are getting what they deserve.
Most of the People in Dima Hasao are not Locals , but show themselves as Locals. 50% Dima hasao villages and people are of Bengali bangladeshi origin or Nepali or some other non locals. So this people supports corruption and anti tribal sentiments
I'm really feeling sad that two ladies children. I wonder how will they raise their children with this mindset? We public deserved this type of road if this type people do exist in this universe.
From next time these lady should take initiative to make all the roads of Dima Hasao, also comparing roads with human life.. Human life could also be saved if treated or getting treatment early so as the road if repared in time. 😂😂Or ye itna jal q rhe heh dal me kuch to kala heh😂
It's extremely sad to see that the public has taken matters in their own hands. I won't blame them. They are suffering from the lack of a proper road. They are, for sure, frustrated with waiting and hearing nothing from the govt. But at the same time, it's also extremely important to know what their right as citizen is, what's the govt ' s duties and responsibilities are. Well done, Daniel for atleast staring the conversation. For at least making them think. We cannot win over this lack of awareness just in a day, but perhaps slowly we will be there someday when the public will roar with questions, face the govt fearlessly and stand face to face demanding what's theirs. 'Keep questioning' should be our new mantra. Questioning does mean we are protesting or not trusting. Questioning means we are curious and ready to grow. Questioning will expand our horizon and the entire society will be benefited. Questioning is good. It's the need of the hour.
It's saddening, you'll be still fighting for their rights, reminding them of their rights. And the people would be reacting as such, this is how public are won over, lack of awareness, public mindset reaching such height of manipulation. The so called "Social Work" is a good initiative no wonder, but it's no good if you're encouraging the govt. to be careless regarding the welfare of public property, it's the duty of the govt to look after these roads, damn we, everyone pay taxes for it, the social work that the two ladies, Gaon bura were talking about is already done every month, when you buy a pen, to when you buy a toothpaste. How mentally tired a person fighting for such a public would be who won't understand as such. Literally heartbreaking. Actually it's even not about parties, it's about knowing their own rights. Fun Fact: Another example of how language doesn't decide on how educated a person is.

It appears that the people of the locality are troubled by the lack of attention from the government and its slow reciprocation. It was saddening to witness people defending their newfound belief system. Hope we don't lose our voice.
Being the 1st autonomous district council of India ,i had no surprises now why Dima hasao is so backward in term of developements , citezens are so dumb ..
