Thanks for the video, just replaced mine today on my 91 buick century 3.3, very helpful, for those of you who think this type of car is a piece of crap, I bought mine over 12 years ago for $300 and have put over 200,000 miles on it. It has been from Seattle to Phoenix 4 times with zero issues, it'll run over 100 and I blow by ricers all the time. They are a cheap reliable daily driver & fantastic in the snow, your loss my gain & I don't have to put miles on my "nice" cars.
Doooood agreed got mine at 16, 3300s are extremely underrated they’re 1st gen 3800s they have a excellent transmission and they’re absolutely simple got mine for 600$ cash didn’t think it would last long but I’ve had it for a few years now and it’s the same case it pulls super hard in 1st and 2nd cause it’s only a 3 speed 3rd doesn’t have a lot left but daaaamn agreeed man
I have to do the heater core replacement on my 1994 Olds Cutlass Ciera 3.1 liter. It started leaking on my feet a week ago, so I went to the local auto parts store and bought 5/8 and 3/4 heater hose pieces and a HELP 5/8 to 3/4 adaptor and bypassed the heater core itself. Now that winter is around the corner I wanna get that heater core replaced ASAP. New core arrived in the mail today, now it’s time to get started on it. Thanks for the great video!
I changed the heater core in my 1977 Buick Electra a few years ago, and as you mentioned everything is done under the hood. This seemed to be the simplest heater core replacement I've ever done. The most difficult one that I can think of was a 1978 Mercury Cougar. Nice video! It's always good to learn new things.
Nice clear video. I just started smelling antifreeze this morning and was dreading how much it was going to cost to have the heater core replaced. This is definitely simple enough to do in the driveway this weekend.
I'm pretty sure my 91 Century is exact same under dash, waiting for the $30+tx heater core come in at Advance. Now to get a cold 30pk of beer for my Son & his best Buddy to replace this fir the Ole' Man. Their My "Bush Light B@stardz" I named them lol, they like it & had shirts made too. Thanks for the helpful video 🇺🇸.
I've done this today it's a pain to do it but I got it done with the help of this video ,good job 👍💪 I have a Buick century 94 almost the same as this one ,so hopefully it will last .it's a brass heater core I'll probably rebuild it just in case it happens again.
This also may apply to the W body cars from GM as well. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_W_platform Great vid either way! Look forward to seeing these in my sub box.
And yeah, getting those heater hoses disconneted from under the hood to the heater core, even after the hose clamps are removed can be impossible, I had to use a sawzall from the inside & buy new hoses.p
They really need to make the idiots who design these things work on them! I'm about to do the same sort of procedure on a 1988 Celebrity and was told by a now retired dealer mechanic who was servicing these things new that replacing the heater core would also result in the loss of my A/C refrigerant. Is there any truth to this ( not that my A/c works at the moment )
@@Mal_ware_666 Actually, it isn't too late. I've been busy with other projects, but because of the warm weather lately, I haven't had to use to the heat
