Glad Heath understood that “method” isn’t being an asshole to your cast mates, but instead fully immersing yourself into a role and knowing when to turn off 👌

There really isn’t anything to understand there. Some people are just assholes, looking for an excuse to get away with it. Others are good people. Heath didn’t have to understand how to be a good person, he just was one.

Kobe wasn't just a basketball player though. He did more. To then hear that he was hugging his little girl at the end. Died in eachothers arms. Tore me a new one. That's how it is with people who are gone much too soon and are known for their last and (generally best) performance. Brandon Lee is another example. Greatest Joker of all time. His Tom Waits impression is just spot on. He talks exactly like him. I do love Cesar Romero’s Joker as well from the old Batman show with the legendary Adam West. Rest In Peace, Adam, Cesar and Heath. Edit: thanks for all the thumbs up! I just wanted to say that, while I do love Heath’s joker, I also love Joaquin’s joker. But I don’t like to compare the two, because they take place in different times and they also have to show you the man that became the joker. In the beginning of Joker, he is a man that has a mental illness that gets picked on by assholes. So we can see him transform into this iconic persona. And by the end, Joker is born.

I never has there been a more deserved best actor academy award winner, than Heath Ledger in that movie. It had to be absolutely terrifying just to be in the same room as him considering that he stayed in character the whole time. [That] is the very definition of *commitment* and *dedication* and nobody can even touch it. Some lights just shine brighter than others.

I swear this was the best Batman movie I've ever seen, so much attention to detail, and the joker? Enough said, this movie definitely should've won an academy award, and lots of them

Heath was special, not many actors like him anymore. It's what makes this movie one of my all time favourites. His Joker was the masterpiece of all Jokers for me. He's the one I see Batman fighting in the comics, its all just a big game and Batman can't kill him.

We need more Heath stories. I wish they would release a Dark Knight special edition that has special features that really goes behind the scenes more and truly shows Heath's dive into this character and the work that went into making this masterpiece of a movie.

The thing that makes Ledger's performance so much greater was that he committed to the role as Joker so much he didn't sleep for days just to get a more realistic insane personality for the movie. It's sad that it cost him his life..........

Heath's portrayal of the Joker may be the most iconic because he really wasn't trying to act like the Joker. He BECAME the Joker. Everyone since him has been doing a portrayal of Heath's completely original take on the character. Nicholson brought the character to life on the big screen and Heath perfected it.

What's crazy is he never showed any of this style of acting before this role. He was never seen as a great actor until this role. And he got this role right before his death, which cemented him as a great actor. If he never did this role, no one would be talking about him today.
