I was one of those shot in the dark email guys, and it was the best thing I did. After a year, I signed with Atlas, and it's been one of the best career decisions for me by far. Atlas really tries to push everyone on their roster, and that's such a unique attention to detail that you'll be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. On top of all that, Heather is always in "beast-mode" as an agent. She dominates every day.
I wanna get with Atlas Talent when I grow up. This was one of the best shows I've seen where the agent thoroughly explained procedure; not only do's and dont's, but whys and why nots. This is another one where a novice should watch it more than once; with a notepad and pencil! Thanks again Chuck and Stacey for once again asking the right questions! Ready for my Buzz, PT2.
It's not every day that you get to sit down and talk with a TOP voiceover agent from one of the biggest agencies in the business and get all your representation questions answered. Thank you Heather Dame!!
Great interview! The most important thing to remember is to creatively demonstrate how you can add value. This has to be done every time you reach out. Oh, and another important thing is, if you believe in yourself and what you're doing...never give up. 😀
THANK YOU Heather for your honesty, candor and positive vibe! As always, great advice and insight from Chuck and Stacey. I love the stressing of the importance of writing good contact emails that are in actual English, and that's it okay to reach out on a regular basis - Atlas agents and all agents are crazy-busy and can't get back to everyone right away. So approachable and professional, Heather!
The agents at Atlas are amazing. Teaming up with them has changed my life. Annnnnd they signed me with YOUR demo Chuck! When opportunity meets preparedness...BOOM!
Tah Daaaaah! Yup! It's another great interview with another great agent! Thanks vobuzzweekly! The lovely Heather Dame gave us some amazing tips and I've duly noted them down! You guys rock!!
"Desperation" how I first almost blew up your inbox after meeting you two, casually. That was silly of me at the time, apologies, since, yes, Chuck, you do have a business to run. Thanks for the feedback however. Still pushing and grinding here and the show adds useful information to our endeavors. Take care, guys. Great show, still....
GUYYYYSSSSS!!!!!!! When are you gonna have Peter Cullen on the show?!??! Hes gettin up there in the years and we cant not have Optimus Prime be Optimus Prime........
I know that this might be a stupid question, but if i live in a european country, is it possible to still get into an american talent agency like atlas? Specifically voice acting.
Even though I live in Philadelphia, would it still be possible to gain representation from Atlas’s New York office? I know an actor (who is a screen actor) that also lives here and their agent is based all the way over in Los Angeles.
VO Buzz Weekly Say I had a commercial, narrative, animation, and video game demo. If I was to submit to Atlas, should I submit with all those demos that showcase my flexibility in other genres or just send 1 or 2 of the demos of the genres I am most interested in working in?
Marc C. Well we don’t work for Atlas therefore we don’t know their exact protocol for submissions so it would be best to go to their website and see what they say refer. From our perspective it would problem be best to submit tall demos but only to the appropriate agents. For example: you would send your commercial demo to the commercial agent and your promo demo to the promo agent. Most giant agencies like Atlas have separate agents for different genres. Hope that helps.
@@vobuzzweekly Oh that's right. They DO have agents appointed to each department. Thanks for reminding me! However they don't have an email submission for specific agents, only for their entire department in LA or NY, which kind of sounds like it would make it easy to get lost in the jumble of emails they probably get.
I would really love to know if these large agencies represent people in smaller markets that are on the way up, like Atlanta for example. I know that many large companies don’t cast outside of LA and NYC. Do the agencies?
