This performance and choreography is better than any other Broadway Shug Avery I've seen except the original. I saw Elisabeth Withers on Broadway and her embodiment of Shug Avery is forever unmatched.

I saw Jennifer Hud and Heather Head...Heather BECAME Shug...no shade to Jennifer, but this cast just clicked so much it was evident in every performance! Though I did love both their vocals, i loved Heather's performance a bit more!

Ms. Headley eats this part up and spits it OUT! Pure sex and amazing vocals!!!!

I compared the two performances between Heather and Hudson... Hudson has less dance sequences while Headley does the WORK... did they completely change the choreo after Hudson left?

Jennifer can’t act. Heather is a consummate PRO. Broadway lost an incredible leading lady when she stepped away. I hope she comes back in an original SOON!
