I love how she’s “drunk” in this. Cuz Veronica just came from a party, on top of that she threw up. I’ve never heard someone do it like this so props to her!
@@charlottedebonnaire1157 yes, but in the U.S., pissed can also mean very angry, which she probably was after all that happened at the party. But you're right it can also mean drunk (especially in Britain).
This is the most eager interpretation of JD that I've seen lol All the others are confused or a little hesitant but this one is getting the belt off right away
Seeing people not liking how she’s interpreted Veronica, I think it’s a new way of looking as she is quite obviously drunk from the party , maybe if there’s more clips of her where she’s more serious, it’s just the mood of that scene if ygm
But the problem people seem to have with her Veronica is that she acts drunk not only in this scene, but in every other scene-whenever she has a funny line she plays the tipsiness up to a 10. Her Veronica seems bubbly and giddy for the fame, just going along with the flow, but even in the second act there doesn’t seem to be a moment where she snaps out of it and find her agency... Just my two cents based on what I’ve watched and seen of peoples comments.
@@yoyoeldas agreed. I like the way she acts in this scene as a one off and a new interpretation of Veronica compared to others, but being like that in every scene would annoy me
@@Ashcrofttt I think that that's just her interpretation of Veronica she's not playing her as drunk as much as she's just playing her as a dorky Goofy awkward teenage girl who is suddenly thrusted into popularity and has no idea how to handle it and even when guys are hitting on her and all this craziness is going on around her she still can't help but be her dorky goofy self

First of all Christina Bennington is my favorite Veronica hands down her voice is just Godly. One thing I want to say , and this isn't just about Christina it's about the song in general, it's the same if you listen to any other performance from any other cast. Why does it always sound to me like the actress starts singing a beat too early in this song.
i don’t particularly like how lacking in emotion it is, it seems too…empty. her actions are halted, and her singing is more just for the skill of the vocals (she is an amazing singer) and it doesn’t really suit either veronica or this song. to me, she sounds like she would have been a good fit for heather duke.

I saw her live and she was absolutely amazing without even trying. She's plays Veronica quite differently to others and she plays it overly comical which is what I believe you're referring to, but trust me she played the role incredibly well and added a lot of humour to the show with her take on the lines/actions of Veronica.
