Hey guys! I filmed with my front iPhone camera at the end (vs my canon camera ), so it flipped the sides of my curls that I had shown in the beginning of the video! The curlier side was the robe tie side. I mentioned that at the end but just letting you know why it was flipped ❤
The way you verbally explained the wrapping process was perfect, it was the best explanation/walk through and the easiest to understand and replicate I’ve seen. For the first time I didn’t struggle with the wrapping part instead it finally clicked when you kept repeating the over under back to the same hand. So many people over complicate the way they explain it and then I end up confused and flustered lol. Thank you!!
Just found out about this technique, and I think I'm going to try it today or tomorrow! I'm going to try doubling up my robe tie, though, so that there's a little less squish. I'm naturally wavy but it mostly turns to frizz when I brush it.
I liked the way you explained and showed thoroughly how to do these curls - step by step. Very detailed and good camera angle so we could see how you were doing each strand.👍🏻
I tried the robe tie and it worked so well! I am a side sleeper so this was so much more comfortable than heartless curls which I have previously tried. These worked much better too. I was just wondering if during the day you used any particular products to keep your hair in place because after about and hour and a half my curls dropped a bit. Love the vid and the explanation was so thorough and I rly understood ❤️
I love your videos! I’m a Beachwaver girl BUT I’m going to use my robe tie TONIGHT and see the results tmrw morning and HOPING for the same exact results you have bc those are the same exact type of curls I’ve been aiming for with the Beachwaver but maybe I’m not using the best products or my hair just doesn’t hold heat curls the greatest! But I’k my hair will look great with your method! Thanks for sharing amazing videos! I will share my thoughts on your video after tmrw morning. Thanks beautiful ❤
Your video comes just at the right moment for me. Last week I had my hair done. I told the hairdresser that I want blonde highlights and I showed her a picture of my own with nice and bright highligts that I had a while ago. Turned out that she put the wrong toner and my final colour was way too dark, almost like chocolate brown. I wasn't happy with the result so I had to rebook a new appiontment for the next day, free of charge. Long story short, I've got my hair bleached two days in a row which left it fragile and proned to breakage so I was considering heatless curls in order to protect my hair from additional damage. Trying the rope method right now as I'm typing. I will come back in a few hours with the feedback.
Maybe use a slik scarf or cap during night. And if it is longer consider to braid it for the night (and then tie the silk scarf around it). There is some mechanical damage on hair when you lie on it during night. I saw a video featuring a woman that bought a real hair wig because she has a condition that makes her lose all hair (brows, lashes, ...). The (expensive) wig is taken off during night. Once the hair is out of the scalp there is no difference to it being on the wig, skin renews and heals itself but not hair. Only that the scalp would provide some oils (but regual washing does away with that). Women used to have waistlanghair back in the day (or longer). But they wore braids and updos during day and braided the hair again for the night to prevent damage. Waist length represents at least 8 years of growth - counting from the scalp. Imagine the mechanical damage of constantly wearing a wool / silk garment for 8 years (day and night, and let's assume one could squeeze in a regular wash, dry it immediately and put it on again). Hair has to withstand all of that. And it can when it gets less mechanical exposure.
@@franziskani Thank you, the silk scarf is an excellent idea to prevent hair from rubing against the pillow. I used to have hair down to my waist about 3 years ago, but it was hard to take care of, because I have a lot of hair. It was nice and I was getting a lot of compliments but I decided to go for a medium length. Now my hair is just below my boobs and it's much easier for me.
IMO Hair curler side looks better and I think that's because of the silk satiny exterior. If you had a silk bath robe tie, that would work just as good imo. It's because the material helps to contribute to the texture to reduce frizz.
I like the tighter curls for smaller faces and shorter women. But the larger loose curls may look better on taller and more average or full face size women. Both are really pretty!
I like both ways of curling. My hair has some layers pieces in the front and I do fine until I get to the bottom. My ends turn out a little crinkly. I have to smooth them out with a curling iron. Any suggestions?
Does anyone know how to make the curls actually happen? I tried it with damp hair-they came out damp and straight. Tried dry hair-came out dry and straight. Tried leave in conditioner-came out soft and straight. I don’t understand how to make the curls stay 😩
Interesting results.. both lovely. I really appreciate the detailed demonstration of how to wrap the hair too.. looks much more effective than wrapping all in the same direction x
How do you wrap (braid) your hair so beautifully even around a rope?! You are talented. Thanks for breaking down hairstyles for those of us less talented😂
Both are beautiful. I wish I could wrap down the middle; I side sleep but can't sleep on either curler or robe tie. I need the wrap to be a mohawk. Find any method that way?
AWW I love these curls so much!!!! They are always so beautiful!!! I for sure think the robe tie is best!!! I actually did these curls yesterday for thanksgiving (In Canada), and they are always so beautiful when they come out!!! They always brighten my day lol. Thank you so much for this tatouriel!!! You are the reason I can do mmy hair in more ways then I thought I could!!! Thank you! I can't wait to see more!!! Your long hair is so beautifuL! Also You look so Gorg!🥰🥰
Omg I haven’t been able to do any hairstyles. But I came across your channel and omg. The way u described the process and made sure it was visible was absolutely perfect! Thanks to you, I feel more confident when I go out. Thank you so much!!! ❤❤❤
QUESTION: how do you secure hair for an updo? I have watched many videos and it doesn’t matter how great the fix if I can’t position it where I want and make it secure. Thank you!!
You switched the sides. When you wrapped it up the robe tie was on your left and the curler was on your right but at the end of the video you said the opposite. The curler side is much curlier at the end of the day (surprisingly)
I filmed with my canon camera for everything except the end of the video, then I had to film on my iPhone front camera because i was at my in-laws, so it flipped it! But the robe tie was definitely curlier at the end of the day ❤
You were definitely tired after the 10 hr. Day because you mixed up the sides of the rope tie and purchased curler side!!! In the beginning you used the curler on yoor right side , and your left the rope tie Then in the end you said the rope tie did a better job at holding the curls, as you motioned on your right!! You had the purchased curler on your right!! Young lady you need more rest!!😂😂😂😂
Robe Tie WINS! Loved that you did this comparison, since I just bought the Silk Tie (which means I'll return it coz it's too slippery to use) -San Francisco fan girl
Your hair is so long. I just cut off 4 inches off. I have learned so much about products from you. That Verb oil is amazing. I too have fine hair. Robe wins! Great to watch you!❤
Thank you for your video. It's the first video I have watched on robe tie heatless curls that I can follow. I am now in bed with my hair all wrapped up for the first time.
I’d like to do the robe method but I don’t have a terrycloth robe. When I went to Amazon, I could only find the round kind there is there anywhere I can buy something that is like a terrycloth robe tie?
Really enjoy your videos. I am afraid to do the ones where you tie a knot or thread strands into each other, figuring my hair would become a tangled knot.
I love the robe tie curls. I have tried both but what is the trick to not having the hair pulling around the ears? I even feel the slight tugging when just watching tv with the robe tie or hair curling rod.
At the end of the day you’re reversed bc you started with the robe tie on your left and the curler on your right, but at the end of the video they were switched. I’m so confused as to how you managed that. 😂😮
Is there a more discrete option other than the robe? I go to the gym in the morning before work, but feel weird going to the gym with the robe still in. Wish I could find something that I can wear that's less visible until I take out the braid before work.
Get a silk fabric in a colour that matches that of your hair. Sew yourself a "Belt" in the right colour. Silk is good. Or microfibre, it is gentle on the hair. You can handstitch too, use a running stitch and add an knot here and there - if the seams tears it will not go far. If you want more volume to your belt you could wrap the silk fabric around a belt or a folded long piece of fabric - Jersey in a close colour woudl be good. If you cut it it will not fray. And maybe you could learn to to the braid in a very symmetrical manner. That would even look cute.
I almost forgot: PANTY HOSE. They often are in colours that resemble hair colour (light brown and darker). One can cut that material with scissors it will not dissolve or get any runners. If you can buy the right colour it will disappear in your hair. The toes have to be cut off of course. (and the waist/hip part) But the legs minus the toe part (which looks a bit different) would make for a good "belt" and you could cushion them up by inserting a belt in the right colour. btw if you use Roibos tea (hot water add the dry tea, boil it a bit, put if through a sieve and then throw in what you want to die). on white cotton it makes a good "nude" colour. light brown with a shade of pink / apricot. I also use it to dye white socks into a nude colour.
Ok so wait the beginning of the video was flipped? Or the “end of the day check-in” section was flipped?either way when you first took them out I liked the robe curler side best. It seemed like those curls were more defined. All in all it seems like the robe curler curls came out better imo, but the robe tie curls lasted longer. Either way your hair takes the curls beautifully! You have perfect hair, not too thick or too thin and not stick straight so it actually takes curls. Count your blessings girl! 😉 My hair is super thick, long, naturally curly and frizzy! 😮 so to even do the robe curls I first have to blow it out straight, then start the robe curls…it’s whole thing!
The curls at the end were flipped! Stupid iphone camera. Lol. It definitely sounds like a process for you to get heatless curls! Do you wear braids a lot?
I was curious Abt all the or if any makeup yr foundation lipstick gloss shadow nice natural look plus yr hair looks pretty without the curls either way and the Aveda color or skin does x gd job .prayers blessings peace fir dll the rirld is enduring here and in that part of the world . Happy Columbus day
Just tried the robe curls and I think I need two more hands to accomplish it lol. Very loose and not a good first attempt but hopefully in the morning they look okay. I also have no idea how to French braid so maybe having experience with that helps you know what to do with your hands more lol.
