Hi Jane, Cleveleys is looking really nice as always. Whenever I come to Cleveleys I always go and see the Ogre, that's if he's not submerged in water haha. Always good to see him and the other sea swallow pieces. It's just one of those towns that calms you and has a good vibe about it thats why I love it especially in the evenings after my Cinema nights. Thanks for the walk along the beach I enjoyed it. 🙂

Love it when the Lake District mountains are in view. Black Combe fell, behind Barrow is looking fantastic in the background. Like you said Jane, fantastic sunsets. Had a fantastic sunset 25 January 23 when I went to Cleveleys beach to see the snow capped mountains of the Lake District. Must go back to Cleveleys beach for a summer sunset. Been enjoying the sunsets from St Chad's Headland Blackpool and Bispham. Got to see the Isle of Man at sunset last night and last Sunday week at Bispham. Xxx

This is a really good video Jane. I very much appreciated the reason for the radar - fascinating - I wish I could see the comparison between different parts of the year for beach heights! The best close up I have seen of the decoration of the Ogre's oar. As well as a great zoom into his inscrutible expression! I am so glad you got to make this video before the tragedy of the sewage diaspora from the Fleetwood works. Thanks again Jane. I really feel this vlog would be a superb addition to the channel webpage as an example to show the quality of all the films you have uploaded. An excellent introduction to newcomers to Visit Fylde Coast! Preparing here for my helicopter flight over a bit of Scotland, It might be a bit cooler 1000 feet up in the air!

Another very enjoyable video Jane. Cleveleys is a lovely place, fantastic because and great high street. Only discovered Cleveleys October 2022. Where can I see fotos of what Cleveleys beach looked like 10 years ago, before the new sea defences were built? Where can I get a copy of the Sea Swallow book? How many miles of a walk from Mary's Shell to to the Coastguard Station in Fleetwood, the weird looking building I can see from Bispham?
@visitfyldecoast
@visitfyldecoast Год назад
I've got a few photos of the old sea wall but sadly not many. There's two posts on the Visit Cleveleys website - one of the very original build: www.visitcleveleys.co.uk/about/history/sea-wall-build-1947/ and another of this most recent one: www.visitcleveleys.co.uk/about/history/sea-wall-build-2007/ I believe the Sea Swallow book is on sale at the tourist information centre at Marine Hall Fleetwood. From Mary's Shell to the Coastguard station is probably about an hours walk - maybe 4 miles?

Thank you very much Jane. I would love to walk to the Coastguard Station but as I don't drive, I would have to start at Little Bispham. 20 years ago no problem but nowadays it might be too long a walk and unfortunately for me the tram no longer runs along that bit of the coastline. It woukd be a fabulous walk, especially on a clear day. Thank you for the links for the sea wall. I will look them up xxx

I just had a look at the old fotos of Cleveleys and the video you did on a wet day showing us an old photograph of a black n white cinema and old postcards of Cleveleys. Usually the place in the old foto looks a lot nicer than now, like the buildings where the old cinema was in. But Cleveleys beachfront, new sea walls, curved steps etc is fantastic. It looks a lot better now than in the old fotos. They did a fantastic job building the sea defences. Much nicer than Blackpool. When I first walked to cafe near Mary's shell from Little Bispham, I wasn't to sure where Victoria Road West was, as I didn't know the round structures with roofs marked the entrance to the roads and the sea swallows marked Victoria Road West. And I did walk past the part of the beach, where the ogre is, the first few times, without releasing it was there. Yes, I always learn something from your videos and written information. The construction fotos from 1947 and 2007 were also very interesting. Thank you very much Xxx

@@bredaquirke7362 You're very welcome, glad you enjoyed it
@visitfyldecoast
@visitfyldecoast Год назад
@@bredaquirke7362 You could catch the tram as far as Thornton Gate at Cleveleys - or even South Strand at Fleetwood and walk to the seafront at West Way where the new Rossall seawall begins. Take your walk along the seafront to the Tower and back as far as you can manage, then cut back to the tramway and tram back to Bispham. You don't have to do all the way as a walk x Have a look at Google maps and you can see where you'd go on there.

could you do a post on wheelchair acsess to the beach
@visitfyldecoast
@visitfyldecoast Год назад
There are concrete ramps to provide vehicle access to each beach - for emergency services/RNLI etc. So wheelchair access basically amounts to that. They're fairly evenly spaced out so you'll find them at all the main/central beaches
