This song solidifies the point that ROD TEMPERTON is here. Temperton went on with Quincy to do Michael Jackson, George Benson, Chaka Kahn, Herbie Hancock, and others. His career suddenly ended and everyone was aghast! I, personally, heard it in you, Rod Temperton, in Boogie Nights, the hit preceding this Grooveline! Am still in shock about your passing. The year was 1978, I was turning 21 and 5 days later I gave birth to my beautiful daughter. Such an incredible time!! Disco was Hot smoking and was awesome! Good times, trying times or so we thought.. How many miss good music like this in 2023? I know I do.

I had a blast at the 8th grade Junior High School dance. That's when the girls had a revelation. They noticed me on the dance floor. All the glory goes to this song. I remember on Monday in school, I was that guy 😊

This track far exceeded ‘boogie nights’ but it was all a matter when these singles were released - boogie nights hit a musically barren period of time- punk just on the rise, but Heatwave, as a group, demonstrated that they definitely had a ‘groove’ - and the production is smooth as a single malt scotch! This song has been in my head since 1978. I just found it with Alexa in 2022. I just remembered the word grooveline. Disco shaped me more than I thought. I was 9. I was a musical kid though. I still have old commercial songs in my head.
