Loved this episode, and nice work on the fab! Pretty much nothing can stop someone with a welder, grinder, and a hardware store. If you ever build an RX7 let's collab! -John
Not the head gasket. Back when dinosaurs romed the land of the long white cloud. And I was much younger about your age. I captured a rare beast PF30 Nissan Promptly installed the famious L26 planed the head a good bit polished the ports matched the l20 manifold shifted the cam shift over 1mm for extra lift fited the stock distributer to the front of the head added two sets of 3.8 holden injectors over sized the flow meter bumped up spark chucked on twin garrets 3 inch exhaust. AND PREPARED FOR SUM TYRE SHREDDING POWER AND IT DONE JUST THAT ALL THE WAY TO 250 WITH A R200 LST AND SWAPED 5TH GEAR. THEN BOOM BACK OF THE NEW STOCK $30 HEAD GASKET RELEAVED ITSETF FROM THE ENGINE. TO REMIDY THE ISSUE I CLEANED THE ORIGNAT HEAD STUDS CHASED AND CLEANED THE BLOCK THREEDS THEN INSTALLED AN L28 HEAD GASKET SAME PRICE SAM PART BUT 2MM LARGER BORE DIA. PROBLEM SOLVED ALSO I TORQED YHE HEAD DOWN TO THE MAX YHE STUDS COULD TAKE. GOOD LUCK BEAST OF A BUILD YOU HAVE THERE.
extra back pressure from the mufflers causing it to surge by the sounds of it. Surge comes in many strange sounding forms lol. but could also just be backing the wastegate too. go bigger exaust? might lower cylinder pressure too and go easier on head gasket.
Did you know the American accent is similar, and closest to, the 17th century London accent. The hard r is reminiscent of it. Today's Londoners sound completely different, from their history with Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
Can you guys do a how to tune video, from start to finish, use part always slide me and seemed like an impossible skill to acquire... cool videos, mucking around with engines people wouldn't normally to just see what can be done with them. Interesting!
if anyone is wondering why they get so much stuff at Bunnings its because there close enough to throw rocks on the roof of there local Bunnings in fact due to the fucked traffic lights its nearly quicker to walk then drive there
😂🤣👌 I love it. Nothing quite like a modded Nissan Pulsar or Patrol! They share parts from some of the best engines till this day And the patrols share the beefed up version of the supra transmission's, when I found that out I converted my trans into a full manually operated auto with paddle shifters and selectable lookup converter. I want to upgrade my Ga16 intake, exhaust and injectors but not sure what sizes ect. I was thinking 1-1/4# for the exhaust and an SR20 or maybe a falcon throttle body but for the injectors I'm completely lost? 🤔 😲
I have a 94 legacy EJ22 subaru with an ebay turbo. Runs about 8-10lbs but doesn't make any turbo noises or compressor surge. I don't have a BOV but I have an internal wastegate. I capped the hose that goes from the wastegate to the charge pipe and it still doesn't make any turbo sounds. Is that not enough boost to make the compressor dose?
@MattBerrymotorsport I was hoping not, I have a similar car but I could barely afford it and a haltech ecu cost more than the purchase price of the car so I guess it's a no, and there no info on a ecu remap for that ecu n16 /yll with qg18
We kept selecting the wrong gear with the stock setup. The BM shifter allows you to be rough and fast with the shifter without missing or selecting the wrong gear
Sorry to be a pain again guys but would you have the part number for the head studs you used? I'm assuming ARP, but the only reference I've found online so far is KA24de fit They're just a bit longer than the factory bolts?
The pulsing is completely normal, a PWM controlled solenoid on the gate will pulse the more duty cycle you run. Listen to a Subaru that runs 80% duty cycle, sounds like a fucking helicopter.
