The "Trebuchet" technique is the best. Lay the Monkey's Fist between your legs and face AWAY from the direction you're going to throw. Then in one "Fluid Motion" using your back and leg muscles in unison throw the rope DIRECTLY over your head backwards. Of course, like all great feats it's going to take some trial and error to be proficient. It's best to do this positioned in such a way that stanchions or something like them will take the force of any errant shot. Give it a try, but don't come blaming me if you break your leg at the ankle! 🙂
