Banter Bulldogge I actually do teach my fighters to turn the foot, what I’ve found out is that everyone’s body works a bit different. Cris throws more power with the hook when his foot is planted. I say listen to your body, if you feel stronger one certain way, then stick to it. Thanks for tuning in!
I've worked out on traditional heavy bags ru-vid.comUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.
Thank you for the video im 41 years young. Just started training boxing last week. I didnt know how much technique is involved. Your boy has got some power. I hoping to get that sound when i hit the bag. Tomorrow I'm learn how to wrap my wrist on my own. Thank you Jason Caldwell Hickory NC
Only reason it’s making that sound is they’re in a small closed space inside with hard wood floor... the sound is gonna be EXTRA loud in the video forsure don’t be fooled.
Hey man I love how interactive you are with your comments! You look like a great coach and your sons form is looking fantastic too with just small things to work on like most people. As someone who wants to pursue boxing , this is great to have . Thanks again and train hard ! 😁 🥊
AceWolf Gaming your time is important to me and the fact that you decided to spend some of it with us is something money can’t buy so I truly value it. Thank you for stopping by!
All good bag drills. Minimum 4 punch, 6, 8, 10 etc. 4 punch with a pivot 4 punches again. Squat 2 punch, 4, 6, 8. With pivot as well. For 12 rounds, then 12 rounds of mitt work. Some crunches and mitt work at the same time. And then some two line bag work 2, 4 punches, pivots, head movement. Then the speed bag at the end of the day. Never forget to shadow box at the beginning of the day. The jump rope, footwork drills, cycling and running. Occasionally, some sauna time workout inside a pool too. And sparring. 😢I miss boxing Respect ✊ to all boxers kickboxers and wrestlers
I love these vids and so happy that this is very close to what I worked out on my own. I do 7 rounds with 30 seconds rest 1. Concentrate on form 2. High volume speed flatout 3. Heavy head hooks left-right no stop as hard and fast as possible 4. Concentrate on form with 4 punch min 5. Heavy hooks to the body and close bag work ..head on bag ..spinning off the bag 6. Combos but speed and power.. really gassed at this stage 7. Light but rhythmic medium fast 1-2's to finish ..arms burning If you do it right I gaurntee a good workout and improved form
Yo even though this is 2 years old I just gotta say I been hitting your workout and that shit is godly I’m always gassed and sweatin like a mofucka at the end
Thanks for this, i have a punching bag and sometimes i don’t know what to do, I’ve been just throwing combos for a couple rounds but this is better, the guy is a beast his form is really clean
Hey man haven't boxed in 7 years and looking at your videos made me take it back up again thanks man john Patrick from Canada will let you know how it goes
excellent .. subtle but very effective addition to my 30 minute bag work out i got from Nate Bowers Fitness... Gym looks real good too .. kind of atmosphere that keeps a fighter grounded , humble and ready to push themselves to the next level on every work out... I've got a two hour nap then a 45 minute bag work session ..i will be applying these drills to the session .. thank you ! subbed ! More power to you and your family!
I'm into boxing ! Unfortunately I'm not in a club at the moment but there is a bag at my gym. So I definitely need drills to do while I'm there to keep up my practice
The comments... Christian is awesome. Evertime someone has something negative to say, but switch roles? Each fighter has a strength, we can't all be perfect and do everything 100% everytime. Love this video, good job dad and son
AllAluminum he has his moments just like every other kid his age lol but he’s certainly a blessing! Thank you, yes when we first got this building we contemplated painting and remodeling but in my opinion this is how a true boxing club should look. We are in Sunnyside, WA.
I just picked up a bag and look forward to getting into some of this. I don't plan on fighting really, but learning more about technique and use it for a fun workout. Loved the video!
Awesome to see your video! I was looking into getting some new drills to do. Your son really helped me with my jab. I noticed he was killing it and saw the hip rotation. That is one thing I was missing. Have a blessed day!
Yeah, how long do you have to box for to be conditioned to do that? I always tried the nonstop - jab straight combo, and my arms always tire out within 10 seconds...
How tall is Christian and what type of gloves would you recommend for someone that's 5'10 and 162lbs? Im currently using 12oz gloves for bag work, but I've also got a pair of 16oz
Kain I would definitely use the 16oz, during training there is no need to put your hands at risk for injury using the smaller gloves. Thanks for stopping by!
Like it - solid drill exercises there. Also good in jab-only rounds to mix them up: fast, distancing, power, planted/stopping, etc. Get the brain going.
I love his center of gravity , but one thing I learned from Mike is always have your chin down and have the glove covering the side of your face . Always treat your training like your fighting with the little things that count . Other than that Chris is dominating 💪💯👌
Holiday Armadillo uppercuts are a bit difficult to throw on this type of bag but he definitely has a nice uppercut, maybe I should come up with a good uppercut drill. Thanks for stopping by!
You cant throw upper cuts on heavy bags fool 😂. You can work on upper cuts on the wrecking ball, on the double end bag and while doing mitts Mr. Expert
It's unbelievable how WINDED you get when working out on the heavy bag. You're not moving your legs that much but you feel like you've just sprinted a mile. I think that means I need more practice. I better get back to it.
When he described that three minute drill I thought - Woooooahh this guy is in tremendous shape to be able to do that drill - If I go one minute with constant punching I am totally gassed. Lo and behold, that three minute drill turned into a one minute drill.
Yup,that 2nd drill, at one minute, has you reaching for the sick bucket if you're using a gumshield to restrict breathing...it would take a long time to manage 3 minutes at that tempo/force. Good luck on that one.
