Cassidy was lucky he "only" had some sort of hand injury tbh... 50 centimetres higher and this (flaming) engine could've gone right through his side window, which would almost certainly have been fatal... that was pretty scary shit :(
Driving standards haven't really been that high this year in DTM, big shame, such a big an historical championship having so many incidents, many drivers just want to make everything happen in the first laps
@@chakko007 you don't see those sort of incidents in GTWCE or in IMSA GTD, granted gt world challenge ain't as competitive, cus you have a lot of drivers on different levels etc, but still my point stands, the pro drivers never make such a mess as the DTM guys do. In IMSA it's that way aswell, pro drivers are never involved in such big wrecks
@@bernardoberner4 I think it's due to the 1 driver per car rule. If you crash, you don't have to tell your team mate that you're sorry. Thus you can drive much more egoistic.
Oof, that was big and caused a huge mess... thank goodness all crashed drivers climbed out more or less ok (tho Schumacher has one broken vertebra I think), that's testament for the safety of these modern racecars... Cassidy was very, very lucky when that engine hit him too... It went into the lower part of his door... had it impacted a little higher with the way it was tumbling, it could've gone through his window and that wouldn't have been the same story... :(
il 's'agit sans aucun doute du plus gros crash de cette saison 2022 du DTM !!! Heureusement tous les pilotes sont OK !! #DTM #AUTOMOTOLACHAINE #DTMFRANCE !! 🏁🏁🏎🏎
DTM obviously needs to decide if it's a free-for-all where anything goes or things like track limts and avoidable contact are serious issues that it needs to regulate. From this example it currently appears to have about as much to do with serious motor sport as caravan racing.
So if you have a look at the replay where Schumacher, Preining and Olsen crashed, you can see Schumacher making the error, coming around the Preining Porsche too early which he then hits and cars behind them brake. The Blue R8 doesnt see the crash and then tags the Olsen Porsche, whom then becomes a passenger. Amateurs should stay at home.
Which Schumacher? I know Mick is in F1 this year so it can't be him. I don't think Ralf is still racing. And Michael is sadly hospitalised. Are there other Schumachers? How many are there in motorsports.
