I'm a proud American. I came to this country when I was 10 years old, my mom barely speaks English. She worked hard in a sweatshop to earn enough for rent and to put food on the table. I got my citizenship when I was 19, I work full time as a nurse. Trust me I've witnessed much hatred and discrimination towards immigrants over the years (and I'm white, by the way). People need to look at themselves and see where they've gone wrong in their own lives, before hating on other people. I work 60plus hours per week to get what I want in life, I've never been on welfare, never depended on anyone for what I needed. Just like my mom and dad, I've worked hard to be where I am. If you need a painter, and Spanish speaking painters are in your area looking for work, go reach out for them. Keep doing what you do, jealousy and misunderstanding brings out the worst in people.

Almost everybody in this country came from immigrants, the only true Americans are the Indians, maybe some Mexican are more Americans than us considering that a big part of the US was part of Mexico. I'm from Puerto Rico and I'm American because we are part of the US but I'm still Latino and my first language is Spanish, I am also serving my country in the military in which less than one percent of American served.
