Heavy Equipment Rebuilds Coquihalla Hwy

It's been a crazy week since all the destruction to the Coquihalla Highway. It's hard to believe that it can be rebuilt anytime soon. The pipeline crews are determined and very well equipped. They need to bridge this gap at Sowaqua to get at their line, lucky for us this is also our way to town. This video puts you in the middle of all the excitement, if you like big machines this is for you!

The amount of pipeline hands and operators working on every aspect of this re construction is insane. We have 400 to 500 macro employees alone. Then keiwitt and bonatti has there guys as well. It's deff full bore out there and I am glad to be a part of it. People don't think there is much going on but the amount of work we accomplish on the daily is breathtaking. Pipeliners and highways can move dirt. And move it fast

I understand. BUT. Government full on spending should be out, im talking like 40 d11s 8 6018 and be one scooping 40 tons. We do have the resources, government should be buying over asking price not even thinking. This is the money pit of canada. Like for real, this money is way way bigger than Toronto. Whatever doesnt happen before january 16th or so. you are in for big big big frost trouble. frost ground doesn't compact

Don't leave. We like your reports. follow and document this rare historic project until the highway reopens. Your videos will eventually be a big part of the valuable archives on how BC came together in the great flood of 2021 and you are there witnessing the repair of the most important corridor for Vancouver, supplying Gas, oil, trucked goods and people to the lower mainland. It's your duty and a great privilege to take on this task.

Fantastic video! only problem, too short, lol. Pretty much the only videos around of what's going on to actually work on and fix the highways. We always hear stuff is being done, but I'm out in Abbotsford, besides what I hear on the news I really don't know much of what's going on to actually fix things. Even though I typically take highway 1 to where I and my family go for vacations, it's still cool to see the work being done on the Coquihalla.

@Monster & ms monster Michelle todd This is concerning to many in the industry, the lack of skilled labour who are serious and want to work. If you are young and looking for endless work around the province, get yourself into heavy equipment school, get as many tickets as you cam ( incl first aid,,say level II ) You will be well paid for as long as you want. The need is staggering. They have kids straight out of school running haul trucks outside Golden, a very tough section to work. Thanks for posting Monster, especially about the meth etc, it's all through the commercial construction industry as well, not everyone bu any means, but enough to make many sites unsafe and very inefficient.

It's easy to get this kind of hustle, just get 400 bored pipeline workers who can barely build a pipeline due to the overbearing regulation and then tell them they have almost free reign to rebuild the highway. You guys jumping for for joy just digging a hole out there.
@user-uu2rf8ev7z
@user-uu2rf8ev7z 2 года назад
@Monster & ms monster Michelle todd We need to restore the transportation links as soon as possible. As I said, the cost of repairs is a fraction of what the road and track closures are costing us. Since we are takling about stupid spending, how about the CERB program? Spending money we don't have and forcing our grandchildren and their children who are not yet born to pay for it is way beyond stupidity, it is criminal.
