For all those that have no clue as to why the use of the excessive horn. It’s to warn oncoming traffic, so they can situate them selves for the bigger vehicle to pass. Those roads are really narrow and winding. It’s🤯 what these drivers have to do at times to make way!
here in Ja our roads are winding and narrow. The use of the horn helps to alert other road users of our approach. That training make our drivers excel when they go abroad and have those long wide roads before them...They are some of the best...
Completely unnecessary, question Do they have seat belts laws in Jamaica? These folks self snitch while breaking the law. Driver no disrespect but do you all consider anyone in these communities? Like old people, people who may work at nights that might be sleeping? It as nothing to do with safety and everything to do with culture, more noise more violence. I see your driving skills though but skill like that nuh match the noise a rookie driver mentality that
The horns a little excessive but I don’t know if you’ve been to jamaica but traffic is a free for all. taxis and other cars drive super fast in narrow windy roads and they have no idea the truck is around the corner so a tap on the horn is necessary. You’re right tho the holding of the horn is unnecessary and inconsiderate to the people living on that road.
Blessed love, I'm from Jamaica. I was there last month I try to go home at least three times a year. What happens is one person stars a nonsense trend and others follow that's clearly not for safety I get the fact that the roads are small and that the taxis drive like the joker but at what point do we stop disregarding people's rights? What about small baby's and old folks, schools and churches, hospitals and so on is there no quiet zone? That's a air horn trucks are equipped with two sets of horn for a reason. I appreciate the good conversation nuff respect...
@@lloydbrown1748 cars do it too, especially when coming around blind corners. Some times a car may need to stop good distance ahead of the truck to give way, based on our road settings. He was just showing off here for camera though, majority of the drivers really do it for safety.
Yeah, I am aware of the safety issues and concerns yet it's gotten to a point where it is definitely no longer about safety or road awareness. It's sometimes in an aggressive manner which results in being annoying to the point where it's a part of every day driving regardless of turns and curves other countries has those same types of roads without that I was in Thailand and Japan recently in fact horns are illegal in some places yet they don't have no where near the accidents Jamaica has. So, is it really about safety or is it more about culture and noise lovers?
@@lloydbrown1748 you forgetting Asians are people with manners, Jamaicans are hooligans 😂. You have to do it for your safety because the other drivers are nuts. Some taxi men are overtaking on these same small corners. You can trust an Asian to use diligence, Jamaicans will speed around the steepest corners with no regards for anyone safety. They have 0 patience. Sometimes you will see them driving on your side of the road and you just give have to give them way to avoid stress, they be driving without papers then hit and run it’s crazy man 😂. Kingston is so busy you would be use to horns, rural people just accept it I guess.
I agree with you, I don't know any other country where this would be acceptable. We have the worst drivers in the English-speaking Caribbean with an average of 485 road fatalities per year yet folks defend it as a safety factor one person inadvertently admit it was excessive yet okay with him we turn 2 lanes into 4 its gotten so normalized its defended its gotten worst year after year yet they love it funny thing is small roads are all over Jamaica why they don't do that nonsense uptown? We have no real aspersions to grow as a nation therefore we accept those nonsense as safety measures while admittedly saying it's excessive which was my original point (not necessary) to live on the horn another person said it seems I would be upset at the cops for arresting the person that robbed me I don't believe he thought that through Jamaica we can do better we should demand better not worst the problem is we have no collective purpose that is greater than the individual. Jamaica in 2024 is no better than it was in 1974 oh we got new roads? at what price? They are literally selling Jamaica, sooner or later the noise act will come are they gonna stop driving or stop the EXCESSIVE NONSENSE and JAKE BREAK noise I am willing to bet those that are defending it to that point doesn't know of any other way and probably can't drive a truck. I drive up to 18 speed so I know that's excessive and unnecessary and only acceptable in Jamaica
