I hope we do meet up at a camp site. I love the rain in the woods. I did my last 5 years in the Navy as a SERE Instructor in northern Maine. Our training facility was 13,000 acres of wilderness, and they paid me to be there. it don't get much better than that.

For my birthday this year, my daughter and I planned a camping trip to a campground about an hour away. I couldn't make things go to plan to save my life that day. Finally leaving an hour and a half behind schedule, we made one stop in the next town over, and when we got back in the car, it wouldn't start. Long story short, the car had to be towed back home, and since we have a nice sized yard on the edge of our small town, I decided I was camping no matter what. We pitched the tent in a sheltered part of the yard. As we cooked dinner over our fire pit, we watched the darkest clouds roll in. We were sitting under the canopy shelter that I set up over the table, when I got a bad feeling, so my daughter and I stepped into the garage just as the 50 mile an hour wind gusts hit, bringing along the quarter sized hail, driving rain and small branches. Everything was soaked, except inside the tent. I don't know how that rain stayed out of there, being a cheapy $60 (it was on sale and they always leak) 6 man tent! So if we ever run into each other at a campground...we'll just watch the rain over a cup of campfire coffee 😆

Luke, thanks for the adventure! That's a beautiful spot, I'm glad it's closed off to vehicular traffic so it won't be destroyed. You're so funny, you have a black cloud over your head and you enjoy it! I enjoyed your story of you and Susie in FL.

I’ve camped in that spot several times over the years. I always spent the first 30 mins cleaning up other people’s garbage. I went up there a few weeks ago and the gate was up. I found another spot and enjoyed it but made a note to adjust my gear for the next trip because it is such a special location.

I'll look forward to seeing your winter videos. I don't know how you do these trips sometimes because of the weather - in this case the wind is a big factor, but we know you have the expertise to do it and do it right. These videos continue to be enjoyable, relaxing and so informative, keep them coming Luke! I'll look forward to Susie's solo adventure too! Thanks for all the great camera angles you do for us!

You have no -one with you to work the camera and yet we get all these different angles and shots of the same thing that make your videos so interesting to watch, but they must be an absolute pain to do; we appreciate it!

Talking about winter wind, back in January of 2019 here in Missouri we had two rounds of blizzards dropping between 16 and 20 inches of snow each less than a week apart, so I decided to build a snow fort between three trees that were growing close together. Since the snow was wet snow it packed beautifully, got the walls built up to about 6 foot or so with a tarp on top and one covering the door and man did it warm up quick inside it. Love making igloos and snow forts when I can, giving mother nature drops snow... it's hard work but having your own little get away for at least a week or two before it melts is so nice, and with snow deafening the sounds of nature the quiet in the evenings and early mornings is just breath taking, and if you get a good view of the sun rise and sunset it's just even more amazing ❤

Not a fan of gates in areas like that for a few reasons. In my experience I have seen gates go up and destruction become worse. They will now use 4 wheeler's and off road vehicles and figure a way around or they just clear the area on either side and drive around it. I have witnessed areas where this has occurred. I prefer better patrolling by the authority for the area and run off the problems and charge those that would cause damage. That area is now inaccessible to those with a disability that would use a vehicle to gain access and that's not fair either. I am one of those as a disabled Marine that enjoys the outdoors and hate to see areas closed off for these reasons. Great video Luke and keep em coming! I have watched and used your reviews for many years now. Outstanding Job!

Luke hey young man I've been a avid outdoors man hiking camping survival skills built my own log cabin in my early 30"s. Hunting fishing back packing. Since the early 70's. Love of mother nature my whole life just turned 56 in September and was just diagnosed with renal failure and will have to start dialysis probably within the next yr or sooner most likely. And now my family Dr. Is telling me that I' can no longer be out there like that alone anymore. It's just not safe for me to be alone out there but I'm most ALIVE out there. No where else. I' would rather die out there doing what I' was meant to be doing... and now my family since has been begging me to not stop BUT to not go back out Alone anymore and I'm just crushed NOW I ' can't just go ahead and continue to find myself or too test myself and utilize my skills learned over four decades on my own... and NOW I'm just so depressed 😔 it is definitely starting to change the Man I've always been effecting my family NOW as well. I've been watching u for many years now and u have always been a blessing for me...I' now NEED to ask you a big favor.. before I' just get to a point that I' want to just turn bitter.. I' must get back outdoors...so would you be willing to help make that happen. PLEASE 🙏 PLEASE CONTACT ME.. BACK ON here ... just 🤔 give it some thought and if you just can't find the time I' fully understand that. But right now I'm simply at a loss NOW and I'm miserable Luke. Thank you again for your time and all that you are doing for those fellow outdoors man, WOMEN that love Nature as well by giving us the best informative info on products and safety both.

As a hunter I use onX hunt. This app has great details that can be used for hiking as well. Living in Montana two other things I pack out with me is a can of Bear Spray as well as a side arm. I am in heavy duty bear country, and if that spray is not enough I’m not taking chances. I also like to carry solar lights with motion detection built in. At night it’s nice to know when a big visitor strolls in. I mostly mountain hike and camp so often I prefer the Hammock tent system. It’s much easier in rough terrain.

I have a similar stove. Only in cube shape and with one side for loading. This is my first year using it. Almost completely replaced my gas burner. Of course, there are disadvantages, such as smoked dishes and slightly lower (and not always constant) effective heat output. But it works on garbage - the smallest twigs from the ground, pine cones, dry grass, pine needles. It turns out that you always have a fire near which you can warm up, even if there is no firewood at all. And I also really like that after it the soil does not suffer as much as from a bonfire

Hi Luke!: Another QUALITY adventure! Those stoves are a HOOT! Got one yesterday for a smoking deal and it came with a folding metal windscreen. Also packaged in the box was a cleaning towel and a couple of what look like dry bags, small ones, but neat anyway! The stove burns nicely on the isobutane, but is a BEAST if you use the propane adapter!

It is a shame that just a few people screw it up for everyone. People with dirt bikes and 4 wheelers think your land is theirs to do as they please. No different in parks. Glad to hear they stopped the abuse.
@jacobravenwood7968

Well, if that camp site hes on right now is on public land then that means that gate was put up by the state department of parks and recreational services So Luke would have no control over that. However, if that is his private land And he put that gate up himself then. Yes, he is 100 %itled to do so. I know there's a lot of people from other countries that watch his videos, and they can't seem to grasp the concept of private landownership. Or that the law would side with him in this matter.😂

Hey Luke. You are really a fantastic person. You like to protect the future of our beautiful country. It really upsets me when I see people destroy land that doesn’t belong to them. I speak my mind when someone does wrong and it makes me feel good that others do the same. That’s why I love watching your videos.

I thought I would throw my two cents in so here it goes. I like that little stove you used. I feel most of them are unstable. I really like the two burner accordian you used a while back. all your video's are excellent I wish Susan would join you again.

lol that “coffee” you drink is not. Jk. But I’m wondering if you’ve ever done a video on how to dry out your gear like tarps and tents and the like? After a long trip? Looking forward to more of Suzie’s videos too. You’re an amazing couple. Strength and Honor indeed

been watching for over a year. and I enjoy some of the gear you review. I'm a guy who has taught backpacking, winter survival. Some sage advise from an old outdoorsman. Never camp alone and never hike alone. I have pulled so many hikers out and off the blue ridge who went alone. For winter - don't cut corners. I have used the North face Bastion 4 and the Alaskan guide series for four seasons. No need for a stove. The blueridge has ome great streams, instead of hiking significant water in. get some for a a nice 10 to 20 mile a day hike and invest with a water purifier and camp close to a good water source. Oh. watch out for widow makers under the pines.

I forgot to tell you. I finally got my sundick table, after 10 months and my order being cancelled 3 times. I used it for a 5 day camping trip and it was very good.
