BY the way that Coke Escovedo Album is the brother of Sheila E...the artist,percussionist, ex-Girlfriend and muse for Prince. Actually Sheila E (E stands for Escovedo) is from a famous Bay Area musical family as her father is a well renowned percussionist as well named Pete Escovedo and very close friend with Carlos Santana who is from the Bay Area as well.Great finds and I enjoy your candor as you never come off as a "culture vulture" like many collectors who think they know culture because they collect the music..... so your humility is awesome!

Those stamps with Governmental Use on them are records sold at the PX on military bases. I have a few from my cousin.

Great buncha vinyl as usual, Dillon. I came across an album by a band I wasn’t familiar with, but I bet you are, called Cactus. It’s a first press of their debut album on ATCO which is self titled. Dude, what a brain melter! It was such a pleasant surprise to put a record on the platter I’d never heard of and be completely blown away! The guitar playing is absolutely nuts, and the songwriting is top notch as well, but I’m sure you already know this. Ha! 🎶✌️🔊🙂

Povl Dissing, as well as Burning Red Ivanhoe, are Danish artists. The translation of the album title is "Elephant Forest Cicadas Shows". I suppose that lends at least a smidgeon of sense to the abstract cover art. The fact that you found it on vinyl is amazing!! Cool stuff.

The Live In Brussels from Black Sabbath has been floating around for years as Live In Paris. The thing is that it was recorded in the Brussels Paris Theater, leading to the wrong assumption the gig was played in Paris, France. The concert was filmed in a French/Belgian co-production and the sound was good enough for an official release.

Coke Escovedo was a Latin percussionist. He and his older brother Pete, played with Cal Tjader, Santana etc. Pete, is Shelia E's dad. He had 3 younger brothers that lead roots and punk bands in Southern California and later Austin Tx.

Yeah, “Funk It Down” is sick. I first became familiar with that song 20+ years ago because GangStarr sampled it on “Ex Girl To Next Girl”.

Hey Dillion, I really enjoyed the video. I have a ton of albums put out by guerssen. You should also look for albums on the sommor label cause they are a branch of guerssen. If you haven’t heard them already you should listen to grit 1972 and wicked lady 1968-1972 which are both on the guerssen/sommor label

Hey there. Need help lol. I have just started to try grading some of my vinyl to resell. I have KISS The Best of the Solo Albums vinyl. I am listening to the whole album and it sounds very good, just some surface noise but does not ruin the audio experience then bam! On the outro to the final song it gets stuck a couple of times then keeps playing normally! This album is worth abit and that one little glitch at the end just depreciated its value right? I would have graded it VG but i am afraid it could be a grading of poor now. Btw its sleeve has some minimal shelf wear but the bonus stickers are in VG condition. Its a first issue Aussie pressing 1979. I guess that wouldnt make a difference to the value?

The only boxed set I've seen recently that was worth buying was that Sun Ra _Egypt 1971_ on RSD. It's going for quite the price on Discogs but I don't flip, so I'm keeping it.

Some box sets really aren't worth it, have you seen the new Facelift box set? No unreleased demos, no new music, just the album on vinyl and cassette, very disappointing...
