This reminds me of when I was younger, my grandfather and I would sit on his porch and watch the storm pass by. It was a screen porch so some rain got through, but it was always so relaxing to sit there with my family during the storm on the porch and talk.
I live here in Canada B.C. We get a lot of rain, wind, and lightning. My favorite, is whenever the power would go out and my mom would order Chinese food. And when it arrived, we would all be sitting around the dimly lit candles as we listened to the rain. Ugh such great memories. I miss it.
I just woke up from a wonderfully warm and comfortable nights sleep. Thank you Ambient for sharing this. My wish is that everyone everywhere had a warm safe space to lay their head at night. I am so grateful, and you should be to, if you have this most basic need met of shelter and warmth. I decided as soon as i woke up this morning that Im going to round up all the extra blankets and pillows in my home, and go personally donate them to the homeless in my neighborhood. Thousands die worldwide each year from hypothermia, they die from something so easily prevented. Winter is coming! Anybody else want to commit to donating a blanket or two!? You can also take them to your local shelter or charity. I hope each and every one of you that reads this has a peaceful, comfortable, wonderful night of sleep! As you stand at your window, looking out into dark night, the rain starts pouring and the wind send shivers down your spine and you feel the cool air on your face.....suddenly your pores are raised as the thunder roars loudly and lights up the night sky....makes me wish I was somewhere far far away, like a log cabin on the mountain top, overlooking the ocean.

Back years ago I remember when I would sit on the porch in silence. My Mother and Stepfather beside me, my little brothers and dogs. All of us together. Would sit in silence and listens to the sound of storms. The wind, the rain. There was no yelling, no fighting, no screeches, squeaks, cries, barks or squabbles. Just life. Its been a few years since I felt that kind of peace.

To some one out there, whoever needs a cheering up right now: fighting!! The storm is only temporary, the storm and raging seas will go and calm down and you will finally see the sun and feel peace. You got this, whatever it is that you’re going through, you will get over it, you will overcome it, you won’t stay there. You are already so strong just being alive and living every day out, so keep going at it, never give up, you can do this. You will overcome. You will succeed. You will get through it all. I got through the storm of a very hard chapter in my life, you will too. Not as fast as we would like, but it will end soon! Don’t give up, be as optimistic as you can! Take that free time to yourself! Do what makes you feel happy and at peace! Don’t neglect yourself and rest, take care of yourself and eat well. You need to vent it out, cry it all out. For you aren’t alone. So many are with you in this long fight called life. And we will all get through it. Everyone will get through it. You got this. You’ve made it so far, look at you, you are never going down. Congratulate yourself on those small efforts- waking up, getting up and going on through your day, doing that homework, caring for yourself, eating well, giving yourself the time you need, feel proud of the resistance you have had through all this time. The storm will pass, it won’t last forever. So to who ever you are, I am very proud of you. I really am. It’s not easy. I know for a fact from personal experience that it’s not. But you’re here. You’re alive and breathing. Your doing so well already. You got this. Keep going you, and reach high. You will get there, you will conquer, you will overcome. Fighting!!!
Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you. Theyre either lonely, theyre missing somebody, theyre depressed, theyre hurt, theyre scarred from the past, theyre having personal issues no one knows about, they have secrets you wouldnt believe. They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now, they are sitting here reading these words, and Im writing this for you so you dont feel alone anymore. Always remember, dont be depressed about the past, dont worry about the future, and just focus on today. If todays not so great dont worry! Tomorrows a new chance.
