Sophia's lecture with Emmylou Grosser on Psalm 23's prosody was quite gratifying to me, being the only person in the room who knew how the psalm actually sounds when sung/recited properly. I asked them if they had heard it. They said no. "Well, you're somehow getting a lot of this right; so good job!"
I am learning Critical Scholarship at University. I find that it accords well with scripture, as you said there were many ancient competing ‘sects’ of Israelites. However, scholars cannot be so biased vs scripture that they end up siding with the other sects. Especially as people of faith, it is critical to see this dialogue in ancient times, but we cannot assume that the Biblical authors were somehow ‘wrong’ just because there were other versions of Yahwism.
@@Markver1 The academic term is ‘Yahwism,’ I am still undecided on whether or not that is the correct pronunciation, but Academics use it so that is what I am trained to use.
