As a beginner, your videos are really helpful to me so I would like to thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have a question though. When I run the model for sediment analysis, I'm facing the same error over and over again at a specific cross-section. The error is "Unrealistic Vertical Adjustment". The cross-sectional area of the said section is smaller than the rest of the reach and it is the most upstream section. I tried changing the contraction and expansion coefficients, but the error persists. Please give me suggestions on how to resolve this error.
Hello Naveeda, This is a very common error, particularly at the upstream XS. It usually means there is a mismatch between the sediment boundary condition and the transport function (e.g. the transport capacity is too low or the load is to large or too coarse).
I have a whole section in the user manual on this error, and plan to do a video on this: www.hec.usace.army.mil/confluence/rasdocs/rassed1d/1d-sediment-transport-user-s-manual/trouble-shooting/common-sediment-transport-error-messages#CommonSedimentTransportErrorMessages-UnrealisticVerticalAdjustment
