Heckles are my favorite discus. From what I've heard, the concern isn't the PH level itself but rather, that in their naturally low PH environment, there's a lower microbial count versus in more alkaline waters. Which leads to an increased possibility of them getting sick. Can you touch base on this please?
Think Luis Santos have the answer to your question. 😊 The Ph is undoubtedly the most deciding factor in keeping wild discus. The F1's are more assimilated and more compatible to the general water parameters. Most experienced hobbyist are hacking the water parameters to reach the targeted levels but these hack methods are like battling against the odds to reach the desired levels. In my opinion i think if your water ( residential area ) is not very soft and humic ( natural buffer ) it's better to use 100% RO with a Ph controller with a Kh buffering solution to achieve the targeted calibrated level between 6.5 - 6.8. Low to High Ph is not fatal but the reverse is.
@@santaremdiscuslda I'm asking if some of those discus in the video are going to a store somewhere in US. I would like to know, so I could contact that store and buy some from them. I don't have a import permit and would need go get them from the importer. Thanks.
