That's because the beauty we're exposed to these days is mostly a 'smoke & mirrors' of sorts. They don't look for unique or classic beauty anymore: the public is now trained to desire only 1 type of beauty & they will pay to attain it. Very sad.
Vivien Leigh was, definitely, the most beautiful woman of her generation. More than Joan Crawford, Jean Harlow, Hedy Lamarr, Ginger Rogers, Marlene Dietrich, Loretta Young, Carole Lombard...etc. Vivien had that grace, elegance and had such talent never seen at that time.
I think they were both beautiful but I think Vivian has more natural eyebrows and more eyelashes which makes her look age better whereas Hedy is very 30s looking.
Hedy Lamarr in Zeigfeld Girl when she appears in that "Star Goddess" costume is one of the most enchanting visions of a woman in cinema I have seen! Simply Gorgeous! 😍
They were SO alike! Like so so. Although i find Vivien just a tiiiny bit more beautiful. I wonder why they didn't consider Hedy for Scarlett O'Hara since they casted so many actresses ( Tallulah, Katherine, Bette, Paulette, Lana, etc etc etc)

Not only was Hedy Lamarr an absolutely stunning woman, she was incredibly intelligent. She invented technology that eventually lead to the invention of WiFi. If you look her up she is also known as the “Mother of WiFi.”
Vivien Leigh is breathtaking. Bigger forehead with big eyes that are upturned and sparkle. Also, wide cheekbones and small feminine chin and jaw. Hedy doesn't have that kind of definition in her face, and her eyes are droop, close together and small. She's still pretty, just not as captivating as VL
I truly thought that Vivien was the most beautiful woman of that era....then I rewatched Samson and Delilah, and Hedy was just mesmerizing !!! Now I keep flipping back and forth on who is the greatest beauty 😍??? Gone With the Wind is probably my favorite 🍿 movie, Ever !!! So.....❤ 🤔 Hmm.
Hedy was Hungarian Vivian was British both beautiful though. Certainly Hedy had more brains with all her inventions likely I don't think she had a couple of Oscars like Vivian so you decide what the priority is.

Hedy looked more approachable. And she has a better smile, and those beautiful gems of lovely eyes. Vivien has overall goddess facial beauty, yes; but there’s a ( slight ) icy demeanor of an auras around her. Hedy looks are soft to the eyes and heart and she’s known to be quite intelligent that matched her looks, while Vivien’s keeps a man heart always alive and alert trying to please her. Am kinda guy that’s not into that sort of high maintenance to a mortal goddess. Both are A class, but Hedy was A+.
You don't get Vivien right. She wasn't high maintenance, she was very natural and humble. She was very ladylike yes, but that doesn't translate as icy or distant.

How did she "copy" her looks if that's how Vivien looked NATURALLY? She didn't have plastic surgery, she didn't dye her hair, she wear makeup even similar to Hedy's, she keep her natural eyebrow, her hair was naturally wavy... Like, wtf
