The Hardanger is such a lovely and haunting sound. It fits so well with the countryside it "lives" in. That piece, Felefeber is somewhat reminiscent of O'Carolan's Sí Bheag, Sí Mhór. Beautiful!

I've never heard this before and yet it seems so familiar. It's beautiful...just another reason to get more in touch with my ancestry.

Så vakker! So beautiful! I do not (yet) understand what you are saying before you play this lovely piece, but I enjoyed already listening to Annbjørg Lien, and now that's a fine creation of hers.

This is a Olav G Helland fiddle. It was my fathers uncle who owned this, he was a good fiddler. But he sadly died - Jakob - Jakob Østernes was his name. So this fiddle was passed on to my fathers aunt in Voss. It was stored for a long time in its case without being used. And we were very interested in buying this fiddle but she wouldn't sell. But when I started appearing in newspapers and on tv, I were finally allowed to buy it. My fathers aunt needed a new kitchen and she wanted 30 000 NOK for this in the late eighties, which I paid. It was paid in full by various gigs, playing for dances every other weekend, maybe every weekend, then I was able to buy this. And I found a bow as well, a "Dølling" bow from Sigbjørn Bernhoft Osa, I bought this from Knut Hamre, for 12 000 NOK - i think. 12 000? Yes. So this isn't anything to sneeze at. And you got the entire sum for playing? Yep, didn't take out a loan on it. It's pricy to play Harding fiddle. Yeah it's costly.

@@norboost certainly not cheap, but no more than a decent violin or higher end guitars. Beautiful sound though. Amazing tone. ❤️❤️❤️
