Heilung performs a ritual show. They start their songs by building up suspense, then you feel a frenzy, then they slowly let you back down. You really aren’t aware how it makes you feel until it’s over. It’s really incredible.

The music style is called Nordic Ritual Folk. It is their idea of what music might have sounded like before Christianization. But there are thousands of years of music development in between and there was no music notation system with which the music was recorded. The growls come from metal, their logo is typically metal and they also release on a metal label. The European metalheads landed here in search of faster, harder, louder music. Hi Francis! Nice! Viking era reenactor here. I love Heilung. Yes, they are actual animal bones. Like wood they have their own particular sound. (I love an upright bass as compared to an electric one) The sound of metal in the background. Blacksmith working. One could imagine weapons being created. You listen inside your head. I'm pretty sure most of them are not exactly words; but sounds. The rest I assume is German, but I can't quite make it out. It's an alluring sound that draws you in. Primal sound. You're to absorb the sound and feeling; not exactly the words. It FEELS right and feral. Love it. YES! I LOVE hearing music in it's original language; do NOT translate to English. It loses feeling in the process. Russian, Mongol, Maori, Faeroese, I want to hear it in its original language. Thanks for your reaction!!!

The bones Maria is tapping into the microphone at the beginning are human bones. They had a lot of trouble getting through customs, having to declare human remains.

unpleasant breaks. i'm not sure if they are post production. also: doubled audio. how can you get the whole sonic context, when you interrupt your listen every n seconds???

@@TachankaSound808 Well the ideal for me is when the reactor interrupts minimally to not break the flow for himself AND the viewer, and then I am more than happy to hear his opinion and thoughts about the song. You get both the flow of the song and the talking. Everybody is happy. That is not so hard to do.

I agree. Had to give up on this reaction a couple minutes in. The pausing is obnoxious and destroys the overall song.

@@satanictaffy this is not my concern, i'm just afraid that reactors can't get the full sensation when they pause so often and this leads to strange reactions. i prefer reactions after the 'reactionar' got the full experience. i saw the video couple of dozen times and prefer to watch how people react to specific parts of a song.
