I am re-Learning how to follow a knitting pattern after many years of not knitting. I must have missed something but after 3 ridges are created in this "Heirloom" hat, I have 138 stitches. This is my 3rd time redoing the hat as it appears to mushroom out with all the "YO" stitches added. Nothing in the video addresses this. It is too too large for a Newborn when finished. It looks nothing like the one shown in this video. Please tell me what I may have missed or done incorrectly?
I like this hat it's so pretty Mikey, you did a great job on the tutorial. I have a question about seaming it. Can you use the mattress stitch to put it together or would it be better with the whip stitch? I'm new to knitting and haven't had to stitch a seam yet.
