Yes It is a Polish-Ukrainian song composed by Maciej Kamieński (1734-1821), the creator of operas and vaudevilles, including the play "Poverty unlucky" from 1778, considered to be the first Polish opera. The song (without the refrain added later) probably comes from one of Kamieński's stage works or was written as an independent vocal piece. The author of the text is not known, but it is known that the librettos to Kamieński's works were written by such Warsaw poets as Franciszek Bohomolec, Wojciech Bogusławski, Julian Ursyn Niemcewicz and Hugo Kołłątaj. In the 19th century, a refrain referring to Ukraine was added. Ukraine was fashionable among the representatives of Polish Romanticism as a land of romantic adventures (at that time Ukraine was considered by Poles to be the "wild, Cossack east" of Poland). The song is originally in Polish, but also has a very strict translation into Ukrainian.
It's best to listen to this song in the evening, by the fire with a guitar among friends.
@@LEVI040910 !! It's a beautiful Polish-Ukrainian song telling the story of a kossack who has fallen in love with an Ukrainian girl , who goes to the battle and says to the falcons to tell his beloved that he loves her !! The interpreters are an Ukrainian a capella vocal who sings this song in this video with the Polish lyrics and they hace beautifful voices !!
@@jeanpierrezutter587I agree, the vocals are beautiful. The theme reminds me of the song "Ich bin Soldat" It's a german anti war song; sung from the perspective of a tired soldier.
@@EEZIK It's Lviv in Ukrainian... and since the city is in Ukraine, it's kinda of its name ;) ! Like Gdansk isn't named Danzig, because it's in Poland.
I transposed this from piano music so I could play it on my tuba. Every note in treble clef at least for piano is 2 notes up compared to bass clef which a tuba is in.
Funny the sng became very popular during polish ukraine (as a part of communist invasion) war in 1920. It has both polish and ukraine versions and I even heard it in german and meshslavic (common slavic) languages. The song realy united us
@@slavprince137 Yeah, if found it after. Super cool! I looked for an Intergermanic language after, but those don’t seem to have been largely developed, just some small projects.

My Polacy nigdy nie zapomnimy o ofiarach Wołynia, Katynia, Sobiboru, Oświęcimia, Treblinki, Warszawy i tysięcy innych miejsc.
