More test though. I for example am being told Titan Hulk is superior yet I stomped a Titan Hulk with a very good build (and blue star cards) with my Captain Marvel (mediocre build/weaker cards). Imo Loki or Hela are about equal in terms of the cost of building the character add they are easy to come by. Then like Spider-Gwen and Gamora it all depends on your specific build and who you are fighting at the moment and their build as to which character will come out on top. Either are a safe bet so it's who you like more. The we come to some major differences about Loki. Loki is now given at T3 to players right away. You can build him up if you choose to easily. His major downside is he has animation issues. Particularly his T3 and 5th move animations leave him wide open and unable to escape. Bosses like Knull can walk in and destroy him quickly if your timing is off. He can get trapped in Mephisto's rage trap easily for the same reason. What If? Hela does not suffer from these flaws. I say they are even depending how you build them. It's whoever you like more but better idea is since Loki is so accessible build both since these characters have a really good team up. TVA Loki is good for Rift otherwise. Hela comes more in ABX. So it's important to have both imo which I do and they work very well together. The major complaint (I say it's TVA Loki's animations) is cumulative damage falling short on both. This is resolved by given them enough damage based ISO and having it Awakened. Also by making sure they have ample Ignore defense and Ignore dodge. Else Loki's leadership sucks and needs a partner with a better one to put him over the line. What If? Hela happens to be perfect for him in this regard. So yeah and for new player work on both since they are both cheap. Loki is going to be first though since again he is a gimme twice over. But obviously other gimme characters are going to resources poured in too like Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Moon Knight, Spider-Gwen and so on. Last note, you will need at least 2 Universal Villain characters for various quest requirements so again a good reason to just build both of them up.
Lo and behold I did my WBL Mephisto and lost my Loki the same way as I just wrote and then Hela had to pick up the slack. Still I say if you are doing one or the other, and you are doing Loki since they give him to you, then just do both of them.
