My father also used to freak out if I cried in front of him. But instead of running away, he just said that he'd punch me in the face. I can totally relate to Helens Mums boundaries. I ended up being so confused that my brothers could do whatever they wanted but i couldnt have a boy in my room. lol! Not understanding why was agonizing as it would also create resentment towards my mum.
