The Mallard family is in a bit of rut. While dad Mack is content to keep his family safe paddling around their New England pond forever, mom Pam is eager to shake things up and show their kids- teen son Dax and duckling daughter Gwen -the whole wide world. The chef could afford a helicopter. I guess the restaurant business is more profitable in this universe. Also, why is he both willing to spend a bunch of extra money to buy ducks from an organic farm instead of a factory farm for his clientele but is also eager to cook up two wild ducks that materialized in his kitchen and could have god-knows-what parasites? Does he care about his clients or doesn't he?

New York City is a melting pot cosmopolitan city with lots of different restaurants, the high end ones expect great payment and good tips for the servers and cooks. This chef’s been in the business for a couple years and he’s made a considerable fortune to own his own Chinook Helicopter.

I don't know why the Chef can't be on the villains wiki, he clearly is mean abusive jerk and he clearly is aware of how intelligent Mack and Pam are, plus he even recognised them and put them in the front as he plan for revenge against them for all the pain they put him through. Not really. Both movies have some similar aspects, like the characters being birds etc, but they're completely different stories. The parrot in Migration is also a secondary character, while in Rio they're main leads.
