Yes when flying the Gemfans 10x50 there is plenty of that no matter how you mount the battery. But once you shift to the HQ Prop 10x4.5, it's as smooth as silk.

@@Phoenix.- thank you sir! No jello even when diving and low throttle? I'll try hq! I've tried two kinds of master airscrew props and they are factory balanced. When thoes didn't fix the jello I gave up. But I'll try the HQ!

Sali! Sie ist nur effizienter mit einem grösseren Akku (über 1,5 kg)! Alles unter 1,5 kg ist der 7 incher immer noch besser, wenn es um Range geht. Zum Signal: Ich nehme an du meinst das Video-Signal? Es kommt auf den Montagewinkel an. Wir werden bald ein Short mit den Mods posten. Wenn du sie optmierst, dann holst du locker das Maximum heraus, sogar über 10 km.

@@pp6129 Ça dépend : Si la batterie de ton drone est plus lourde que 1,5 kg, l'Helion est plus performant. Mais si la batterie a un poids plus bas, le Chimera est parfait. J'espère que ça t'aidera.

Ja, stimme zu. 8" ist zweifellos die beste LR configuration.

1:100 is where need to be (and NOT 2:100) for long range, so please do not change that. Your problem could be caused by a number of things but let's just cover the basics and see whether it improves. I wolud say check the basics in your TBS Tango II radio settings first: Frequency needs to be 868 MhZ if you're in Europe Max power at least 250mW or more for long range. Go into Diversity nano RX in the Tango RC In general settings, make sure your RF profile is set to 50Hz ( 50Hz gives you 1:100 in OSD) it's the best for long range. Also check to see if your antennas are properly connected to the receiver chip. Run some tests and see if this improves your range.

Answer is already there! 1:100 means RF profile 50hz (think this as 50 FPS game when 150hz is 150 fps. There is less void gap between each milisecond of your control stick for 150 than it is for 50. Therefore, you get smoother control with 150) However for long range I do not know exactly why but 50hz is said to be optimal. I think when it comes to a long range, it is more important to receive and transmit signal than the amount of information to be processed. For the 0:100 and tango 2 showing 5 bar is weird. I believe 0 means the signal is weak but 100 means there is no significant interference. Also it is hard to have weak signal for your TBS because by the time you get weak rx side signal, your vision would be out already... hmm

Though I don't have a larger size quad, only a 6" right now, I also think that the nice spot is going to be an 8", going to go with the Mario fold 8 for it seems better for traveling. Thank you for the time and energy involved in this testing!!!

Hi @Gazafpv. Thanks for your great feedback. As evidenced in the first test where the Chimera 7 defeated the Helion 10 on efficiency running a smaller battery, (9000mAH at 1150g) this second test was not designed to show the general efficiency of the quads, but rather their efficiency on this battery size. (as it was not ideals for the Helion to be compared with Chimera on a smaller battery, now the roles are reversed with a bigger battery and the Chimera is at a disadvantage) We set out to find the point at which the Helion starts out performing the Chimera if we keep increasing the size of the battery beyond our initial test and we found that point to be 1900g. It's true this these 2 quads have 2 different efficiency points due to their difference in size: The Chimera 7 performs better than the Helion when the battery weight is below 1500g and the Helion starts outperforming the Chimera when the battery size is bigger than 1500g. Despite the less than ideal battery weight, the Chimera still managed to increase it's total range to 29km on the 1900g battery - which is still more than what I could cover with the 9000mah (24.5km at best) in the first test. As a result of that I could not say that the Chimera would cover more distance with a 9000mAH because it cannot. (but it certainly flies better) 🙂

@gazafpv As far as performance in wind is concerned, it is also my experince that the Chimera has the 'better advantage' - it is much much faster than the Helion when facing head or tail wind. The Helion, however is steadier in wind which gives the impression that it's better in general. One can stabilise the shaky footage of the Chimera due to wind but the Helion may not make it back home if the wind is too strong; which would be a great loss.

@@ugpfpv361 We got the Helion for LR high altitude flights above; 5000m. There are signs it will outperform both the 7 and 8 inch quads, but of course I can only say that after testing 🙂

Yeah, for that kind of cash it makes you think twice before sending it anywhere where you cannot retrieve it after a crash. 😎 The comparison is because iFlight and 2RAW stated that Helion is the ultimate LR king, so we wanted to see if it can keep up or replace the Chimera 7. And that turned out to be not the case.

@@Phoenix.- ain't that the truth... I have almost nothing into my 7in. I got in a package deal that was a trade so I have nothing into it except for the gps and my gopro and I almost lost it on Friday I would have been mad still because I still would have to replace it. Lol.... a grand for a drone is nuts...
