Great video, i like it. Japan hobby tool #10 grease is more expensive than the Helios lenses. And I can not buy the grease from ebay and fron Japan. They just not send product to Russia. So I use cheap Chinese grease SW-92SA for all old lenses.
Excellent topic coz everyone loves these Helioses and no one knows better than Russians how to spray & squeeze so much oil and grease on the aperture blades. Thank you.
I got one these and an old Zenit camera. The camera had shutter curtains problems and the lens rear pin was stuck inside. Took the back of lens off clean and oiled the mechanism which freed it up. Clean the rear and front elements which are alot easier to do than other manufacturers. But got to says I'm not brave enough to re grease the focus screw mechanism sadly :-(
Hi. I tried the Huskey HTL 500 to the touch, it had the right consistency and PTFE additives and full synthetics, but its focusing smoothness was far from ideal ... I also tried Divinol Fett top 2003, it turned out to be too sticky and the helicoid rotated very tightly, but I would only lubricate the guides with it, since it is very sticky and must hold in place for a very long time. I also conducted a test by applying a drop of different lubricants to the printer paper, and after 12 hours I looked at the stain, which was partly an indirect sign of the retention properties of the thickener and the tendency to evaporate, and leaving them for 24-48 hours to compare the lubricating properties of those thickened lumps lubricants that have survived after staying on the paper and drying. Could you also check the ones you have?
Hello Mike. Nice videos! Is there anyway i could reach out to you via Fb or Email? I have a lens concern and i think you’re the perfect guy to talk to.
