its pretty extraordinary that this has never happened before. There probably has been over a hundred thousand plate appearances from right handed hitters since the park first opened
I thought it would be impossible, due to losing power trying to hit from the opposite side of the body, plus it's just plain difficult to get it over the wall.
Oh yeah for sure, and Ramos wasn't even in the Giants plans to open this season. Man, imagine how bad the Giants would've been this year if it wasn't for Ramos
2025 : Ramos in LF , Lee in CF , McCray in the wings in the minors. Outfield is looking real good. (Yaz will probaly be RF or OF #4 if we can sign someone) I'm tired of waiting for Farhan Zaidi , we need a someone who can make a big Splash (no pun intended) for a big name. Even Posey ❤ had to step in to get the Chapman deal done.
Doval, you think fans are frustrated....imagine being a teammate. Having to act like you aren't super irritated with his 6 blown saves and several blown leads. Its safe to say that had Walker pitched those games, the Giants have at least 80 wins today.
People called me crazy last year when Doval was an all star but I said it was by chance because he has no control. I think he needs to get off 102 and go down to 97 and just paint the corners. He's got an arm but he needs to take a step back if he wants to stay around
@@E_alvarad0not if Bob Mel doesn't learn his lesson and keep giving chance after chance after chance! At some point you have to keep him in AAA until he EARNS his spot back! So over Bob too!
@@Bizzy7891 honestly I think BM is a better coach than this and he's getting calls from Farhain or some analytics guy in the dugout to choose his coaching moves so he's making super questionable decisions
Doval isn't a fit in SF anymore. Needs to be traded this offseason. Sad part is that he's thrown absolute garbage and his trade value would be way lower than at the deadline. Farhan will go dumpster diving for sure.
Wild how we signed so many free agents this year yet the best guys we got were via growth from within between Ramos and Fitzgerald. Development is important!
@@pouponboy6330 correct you got it. Or can go on display or Ramos can keep it. The ballpark has been around 25 years. It’s kind of a big deal smart ass.
Basically a perfect storm of the conditions necessary to do it. You can see from the flags that the wind is blowing out to right field. It was a 100mph fastball right down the middle. And you still need to time it perfectly and hit the ball really, really hard. The reason it hasn't been done even in BP is because BP pitchers don't throw hard enough to allow it to happen.
How hard balls are thrown in batting practice is irrelevant. Pitches aren't thrown nearly game speed during home run derby, and guys still crush balls.
McCovey Cove Dave didn’t hit that Home Run. He didn’t earn Jack shit. Heliot Ramos earned that ball. Heliot was the first to hit a righty splash hit, not Dave
No Giants right-handed hitter until Ramos... Think of the right handed power hitters the Giants have had since Oracle Park opened in 2000; Ellis Burks, Reggie Sanders, Jeff Kent, Andres Galarraga, Bengie Molina, Buster Posey, Hunter Pence, Kris Bryant. Kind of interesting that Ramos is the first Giants right handed hitter to hit a home run ball into McCovey Cove. Never would've guessed it would be Ramos.
