I have downloaded tons of worship guitar presents. I can say without question yours is the best I have played (including most of the popular preset /tone match people). It sounds absolutely incredible. Seriously. Great job.
Thank you Anthony for sharing your tones. I’m new to Helix so I’m technically challenged being an older player . These tones will give me a head start . Blessings ✝️
This is a demostration that We may see new gear comming as Quad Cortex, fender master tone, maybe another helix, or kemper.. We consider Helix as an older unit, but in the right hands, this is enough to get an awesome tone...I met a Guy that has an older boss GT 10, and His sound was amazing. We should try to learn more about settings instead of thinking to buy the * newest * things, Thanks for this video Anthony. You are amazing.
Thank you bro! Yea personally I definitely try to get the most out of something before I sell it. I think there’s so much we haven’t tapped into on the helix. Because a lot of us, are set it and forget type people. Even my self, I was that way for a very long time. Only recently getting into more tweaking, and just finding out what I like personally. As compared to what I’m supposed to like and sound like as a CCM guitarist.
The patches sound amazing, and the practicality of utilizing the potential of the Helix is well thought out, and works like a pedalboard in real time. Thank you for sharing this, I will definitely donate to the coffee fund, God bless!
Thank you bro! Yeah, so I had the FM9 for about 6 months in the past, and to be honest I really struggled with getting it to sound how I like it the whole time. It could have just been me, but it’s was hard for me to wrap my brain around it for some reason.
Dude! i sold my fm9 and grabbed a Helix, and WOW! Im loving this tone. Its very good! i wouldn't necessarily call it "better" than the fm9 but it works way better for me! Thanks for giving this away! such a blessing. Its all about how the effects hit the amp, and the helix wins for me big time Also are you using XR irs? i think im going to pick some up once they're on sale. @@anthonygroves16
I feel the same way about the fm9. It is a great unit and absolutely does the rock n roll thing better than them all imo, but its lacking with all the " PW stuff" going into the amp. I could never get it to sound great... just good. So i ended up selling my fm9 and buying a helix! This preset is absolutely killer! I love how the Helix handles front end effects. Its a bit lacking in headroom, but it is an all in one so im not complaining. its a perfect backup for me Are you using XR ir's from tone factor? I think they sound awesome! @@anthonygroves16
Great Sounds! Thanks for walking through all the pieces, super useful. Interesting to me how the bulk of the "worship" sound seems to come from putting your delay/verb before the amp to get those effects nice and saturated
Yeah there’s just a sound when it comes that “worship” thing. I’ve tried having wet fx after amps in the past, and I just prefer running it in front. It just has something different to feel and everything cascading together
thank you Anthony! I almost gave up on my helix and was thinking of selling it out of frustration and I stumbled on your video! Im giving it another chance...
Thank you for giving it try! I think the helix takes a lot of time to tweak just the right way. But once you can get it dialed in, it really starts to shine and become easier. I hope this helps you to achieve what you’re after. I love using my Helix when needed, because I know it’s gonna sound exactly the same every time.
Thank you bro! I’d honestly love to know how you like it. The the tap switch, is my tap tempo. Because my helix is old, the tap tempo button is very touchy. If you step on it twice it jumps to 240 bpm 😂 A few of my buttons need replacing on my helix
Bro, I have the SAME problem on my Helix! That tap tempo button is going kaput and I’ve been avoiding the issue by using Ableton to sync my tempo. I’m definitely going to check the patch out! Just gotta finish Dad duties first…
I've been using your patch for the last couple of Sundays, it sounds really good! Do you vastly prefer the patch that uses the Tonefactor IRs or are they pretty close in your experience? Debating if its worth buying the IRs.
I do prefer the ir’s to the stock cabs, because there’s some mid range character that’s hard to replicate with the stock cabs. But they both still sound good, and in a mix you won’t be able to tell lol
Oh yeah I love the glitch delay. I have a hx stomp mod pack on my website to, and the glitch delay is in there. I use it occasionally on my big board when I want some more randomness lol
@@anthonygroves16 I like to put the glitch looper early, then glitch delay after to double the randomness, then with a good dose of reverse delay, and verb - pure joy 😊
Awesome bro!!! I wish you could add an external foot switch to the helix, like on the hx stomp. Even just 2 extra would come in handy sometimes. But yeah, I love the xr ir’s to, they sound great. That add something extra, I have a hard time recreating with the stock cabs.
Thank you 🙌🏼🙌🏼 Here’s a link to the tap temp switch I have. Definitely comes in handy, so you don’t have send off your helix. Atleast for now lol www.store.stepaudio.net/product-page/one-trick-pony-line-6-tap-tempo-controller
I have a hx stomp mini rig one, where you can use the stomp or xl as an all in one. But it’s an older version, I need to update it with the new amps and cabs, which I will very soon
Amazing ! Many time trying to achieve Upperoom sound from my helix. But man, this thing is killer. Thanks Anthony ! God Bless you ! One question please, On 3.0 recommended TF IR are the same like on 2.0 ( JMI and Benson Chimera ) ?
Hey Anthony, is there a pod go version of this out yet? I’ve been looking forward to downloading it. I can’t find anything on Buy Me a Coffee or your RU-vid page?
Hey bro, no the ir that I suggest is not free. There’s 3 presets in this pack, and 2 of them are with the stock cabs. Which sound great. I just made a preset for those that wanted to drop their desired ir’s in it. Or you can use the ir’s I suggest, which are from Tone Factor. Those you have to pay for, from them.
I wouldn’t consider the helix an older unit. How many times can you reinvent the wheel? As long as new algorithms come out and there are updates, it stays current. That’s how I see it.
Thank you for getting it. The only one with the “mood” setting is the preset labeled AG Mood. The footswitch is also labeled Mood on the preset. Engage it, strum a chord, then hit the button again for it to play. And listen to it chop and shuffle
I think so, you may want to tweak a few things to your liking. But I think it will still work great. Plus I dialed this in with me Lambertone Cremas, which are humbuckers but act like single coils.
I don’t, I actually don’t recommend that on any helix, or hx stomp patch that is meant to be stereo. Because the summing inside the line6 can be weird, imo. What I do when I have to play mono somewhere. I plug a dummy xlr in either the L or R out of the helix, then I plug my other xlr that’s going to FOH, into the other output. I just pick which amp I want to use, then plug the FOH xlr into that spot.
No not technically. All the effects will still work as normal, you just won’t hear the other amp. Its the same as switching every stereo block to mono blocks, and only having one amp and cab on the preset.
