Help! The Winkbed and Helix Lux are about $400.00 difference (today). I am a 250lbs athlete that prefers a strong coil bed with a Euro Top feel. I tried the 5 minute store test yesterday on the Helix Twilight Luxe (Medium Firm) and I liked a lot. I fall asleep on my back but often wake on my side. I am from Wisconsin and I live in Phoenix where each are made, so I would prefer one of these two over a Saatva Classic $300 (today) more than the Winkbed. Are there any reasons why I would want one of these 3 over the other? They all seem to be very very close in numbers. I like that the Saatve is shipped out NOT CRUSHED but the warranty seems lacking once you read it...

Honestly, you really cannot go wrong with any of these 3 choices. Winkbed and Saatva Classic are the highest scoring mattresses we've tested to date. And Helix Luxe isn't far behind ranked #7 (out of 150+). Helix Luxe has a little more of the memory foam feel on top. Winkbed has a more balanced feel. And Saatva is a bit more of the classic coil feel with a less dramatic body contouring Go with the feel that seems like it best meets your preferences. In all cases, the performance will be excellent on any of these 3.

Is this the best hybrid you tested?

It's definitely up there, but it's not the absolute best. You can see the best hybrids I've tested here - naplab.com/best-mattress/best-hybrid-mattress/

@NapLab My fiancée and I are looking at getting a new mattress, because we have had a beautyrest black hybrid for 4 years and I've been having shoulder and hip pain for over a year. Looking for something that provides good pressure relief for side sleepers on the more plush feel side. I was looking at Helix Sunset and saw your tests for that, what are your thoughts on a good mattress?

@NapLabReviews Год назад
You can see my full review here - naplab.com/mattress-reviews/helix-sunset-review/ In short, it's a good mattress, especially for the money. Though not an incredible mattress. Helix Sunset Luxe would be notable better. Biggest issue on the Sunset is the higher motion transfer. If you're still having trouble deciding send me your preferences / needs / budget here - naplab.com/mattress-quiz/ - and I can send you a personalized recommendation.

would you recommend it for a guy who's 210lbs? I have the regular twilight and as a side sleeper I find it great but a little too much pressure on my shoulders. But I'm starting to love a firm feel...wondering if the twilight luxe would be good for me...or should I go for the dusk...does it still have a firm feel?

I am doubtful the Twilight Luxe would be the right fit. The firmness is essentially the same as the original Twilight. The Dusk is a possibility. It has a medium-firm feel, so you'll get the extra pressure relief and softness you need, without being too soft. Ideally, you probably need a 7 out of 10 firmness. Firm is 8 out of 10. Medium-firm is 6 out of 10. Here are a few 7 out of 10 firmness options worth considering: Winkbed (firmer version) - naplab.com/go/winkbed-mattress Birch - naplab.com/go/birch-mattress

So just one .more question...if the winkbed firm is a 7 on your scale...how would you score the twilight luxe and twilight regular in terms of firmness?

@@NapLabReviews unfortunately winkbed doesn't ship to Canada. So does the Dusk Luxe still provide a nice firm feel but with shoulder support? The Twilight regular isn't that far off what I need...you sure the difference really isn't that great between it and the Twilight Luxe?
@NapLabReviews
@NapLabReviews 10 месяцев назад
@@horacesilver5238 No...I cannot emphasize enough that Dusk Luxe is not a firm feel. It is medium-firm, 6 out of 10. I have only tested the Twilight, not the Twilight Luxe. So I cannot be 100% certain. But I have tested 2 other Luxe versions (Midnight and Dusk), both of which were the same basic firmness as the standard version. There is no reason to think Twilight would be different.

How would you compare it this to the softer Model -Midnight? And the firmer model - Twilight? I’m 6ft, 200 with broader shoulders. If too soft I walk up with hip pain and if too firm then shoulder doesn’t have enough pressure relief. Have you tested the Dawn or Twilight Luxe? Any insight you can share would be appreciated!! Thanks

We've tested the standard Dawn and Twilight, but not the Dusk. The Midnight and Dusk Luxe are essentially the same firmness. As far as how they compared, it really is just the firmness that varies between the various Helix models. The feel is very similar between the models. Given what you're looking for, I would think the Helix or Dusk Luxe is the right call. That way you're not going too firm or too soft.

@@NapLabReviews Love this reviewer's question. How close are the Midnight/Dusk luxes to say, a medium firm Serta Premier? Not gonna lie, didn't mind the plus top and the best sleep I've ever had was on a mattress with a plush top but great support. Too bad my body got used to the twilight standard. So now I've narrowed it down to the birch and the dusk/midnight luxe. Only concern is 2 inches of foam vs 4-5 for the luxes. I've heard less is more and wondering about longevity of the luxes. Many...many thanks again

@@horacesilver5238 I haven't tested that specific Serta, but in general, "medium-firm" has the same 6 out of 10 firmness feel across most brands. Midnight and Dusk are both medium-firms. As a result, these Helix models and the Serta Premier medium-firm are all going to be around the same firmness. Note that Birch is slightly firm, a 7 out of 10 firmness. You may find that is a bit too firm for your needs if you like the feel of the Serta Premier. In my view, it's less a choice between 2" vs. 4-5" comfort layer, but rather a choice between firmnesses and the feel of latex vs. memory / poly foam.

@@NapLabReviews Motion transfer aside...the difference between the Dusk and Midnight luxe is essentially one has more of a memory foam feel while the other is more inbetween foam and latex...but both great for side sleepers? Any other notable differences?
