Helix Presentation - NAMM 2016 | Line 6 

Sean Halley is THE man. The way he Plays and Showcases a product... he could sell me anything. You guys at Line6 Need to Keep him around. ;-)

This presentation of the Helix just proves that what is really important is to know how to play, how to use the device and incorporate it to your playing and creative needs and, last but not least (far from it), preparing what you are going to play.

This is by far the best demonstration of what the variax and helix can do I've seen. Credit to Sean, he's a great player and extremely intelligent. I'm offically a fan of him now.

I'm sure all the gear is great but man, the playing is awesome! Great concept, flawless execution. What a treat!

That lead tone at 1:48 is just sweet and perfect in every way. I keep rewinding to that part! Beautiful!

Excellent tones! I'm still on the fence with the Helix. This may have done it. Plus always a fan of Sean Halley. He's a great player and also good at what he does.

He did a great job for Eleven Rack years ago (I use 2 at once for stereo with different patches in each Mission Engineering cabinet). But lately I’ve been watching Line 6 Helix vids. Sean does a GREAT job here. I’m not quite ready to let go of my Eleven Racks, cuz then I’ll think of buying 2 Helixes ... sigh.

Congratulations Sean ! You're a very good musician. These days as a guitar player you need also to be also a sound engineer. Though I know this is very ecxiting it's not given to evryone to spend time and interest to build sound wit the huge possibilities that are available today..... I finally had the chance to try the Helix a while back. I'm pretty lukewarm on it. Definitely a nice piece of hardware, nice interface and features, but it's really not for me. I do a lot of the direct stuff and it didn't blow me away in that area. There are many software options out there that are much cheaper and on par with what the Helix does direct, especially when you start mixing and matching in different IRs. I think there are a lot of people who hate Line 6 because they tried one of their affordable products like 15 years ago, had a bad experience, and just wrote them off entirely after that... I'm not one of those people. I have no problems with them, and as a consumer, and GAS-suffering guitarist, I always try to entertain any option that comes my way. I actually use POD Farm fairly often in conjunction with some other software here and there (like I said I do the direct stuff), and nothing I heard out of the Helix convinced me it's an upgrade worth $1500 over what I already have. Granted, I know it's meant for a wider range of use than just direct recording, which is why I said it's just not for _me_, because it would be a waste on me, but yeah I think I'm going to pass. I'd be super down for a Variax though.

Any idea what monitor was he using? Looking to see if there's any suggestions to what monitor would best suit the Helix floor for personal hearing apart from IEMs.

Excuse the ignorance with this question , but what would be a great rig with the helix ? just run it to a PA or run it through an guitar amplifiers effect loop? Any good AMP suggestions or if the PA is the preferred method which PA , thanks could really use some help here

Was that a Nylon guitar at the end? It sounds like it, but I thought Variax did not have a modelled Nylon guitar.

One question that I can't seem to get an answer to if is if you were to use the Helix on a solo gig using a Taylor T5Z electric/acoustic direct from Helix into a PA like a BOSE L1, what type of tones are available for acoustic sounds? The unit also has an XLR input so wondering how vocal processing sounds. I was ready to pickup the Digitech Voice Live Extreme and wondering if I need both units using Voice Live Extreme for Acoustic sounds & vocals and Helix for electric tones. Thxs

This demo shows Helix is a great piece of gear but it also shows there is no substitute for chops and knowledge.

I was beating my head against the wall trying to figure out if I should get a helix lt or a Headrush 11r hd,being a tube amp purist for decades till I got a Eleven rack and found S-Gear in Slates everything bundle and then it was just too convenient in a small studio with close neighbors and cops down the street It was to late I was hooked, after doing much research and looking at how many used Headrush boards were for sale on Reverb and GC and eBay, that tells you something don't buy it yet it's too early they haven't been around and I'm not a doctor I just play one on tv I don't got the cash for a Axe- Fx 3 so Helix it was a no brainier, but now my back is screwed from 30 years of drywall contracting, the less I have to bend down to tweek away on a new pedal the better off my back is so fuck it I ordered the Helix Rack w/ floor controller two days is a long wait when your waitin for new gear especially when it's a Helix!!!

Here's the only problem I have. Everyone is asking a singular question that will determine most of it's sales... WILL IT DJENT? Seriously, I've heard a bunch great tones so far but not one awesome, punchy, metal, hardcore, or djent tone anywhere online and a large portion of your demographic are metal fans. You need to get someone from Tesserct, or Tosin or SOMEONE like that to demo it. Ball's in your court Line 6.

Guitar player is great, but Line6 stuff sucks. Had nothing but troubles with it...
